Actor Jamie Harris (Sergeant Dombey) is the younger brother of fellow "Carnival Row" actor Jared Harris (Absalom Breakspear) and the son of famed Irish actor, Richard Harris.
"Carnival Row" was primarily shot in the Czech Republic, in the city of Prague, which with all its gothic architecture and historic castles, turned out to be the perfect place to shoot this high-fantasy, noir fairy tale.
There are four continents in the world of "Carnival Row." Mesogea, Tirnanoc, Ignota, and Obscura.
Because the make-up process of turning actor David Gyasi into the faun Agreus took so long, upwards of seven hours, the production shot all of his full-bodied scenes together, getting everything they needed in just two individual shoot days.
In the world of "Carnival Row," the Continent of Mesogea is the cradle of mankind. Located across the ocean from the continents of Tirnanoc and Ignota, the recorded history of Mesogea begins much later than that of the fae because humans are newer to the world than their fae counterparts. Mesogea is home to all human races and countries. The Burgue is located in the north of the continent.
