The video is one of the most expensive music videos ever filmed.
The Edge was inserted into footage from Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
The video ends with the "good U2" walking with Lara from the scene to a place with levitating cars and a pachyderm, ending with a Boeing 747-400 flying overhead before fading to black (the plane is also seen at the very beginning of the video).
The version of the song featured in the video is the Tomb Raider Mix, remixed by Chris Vrenna (formerly of Nine Inch Nails). This version is a "harder" version than the version that appears on All That You Can't Leave Behind. This version was performed on the band's subsequent tours.
The title "Elevation" is the namesake of U2's 2001 tour and Bono's private $1.9 billion equity company Elevation Partners, of which Bono is a co-founder and managing director.
