Stephen Thrower on 'Night Has a Thousand Desires' (2016)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND DESIRES (or MIL SEXOS TIENE LA NOCHE) isn't one of my favorite Jess Franco movies but this thirty-three minute featurette with historian Stephen Thrower is certainly very much worth watching. As I said, I didn't care too much for the film but this was yet another wonderful educational piece from Thrower who starts things off talking about the years leading up to this movie. This includes some different things that were going on in his and Lina Romay's personal life. From here we get into the production of this film and Thrower shares his thoughts on the production as well as the various meanings that one could take away from the picture. Fans of Franco and Thrower will certainly love this piece as the author does a terrific job at breaking down not only this picture but previous ones that had similar stories as well as possible connections. THere's a lot of great information on display here and it certainly makes you want to revisit the picture.
