Dreadfully unfunny Christmas Special that turned the usual addictively entertaining cringeworthyness of watching the Royles into genuine cringe.
Unless I missed an explanation, Denise and Dave's two children were not only missing but not even mentioned(?) The casting of Dave's parents was extremely poor as they appeared to share no characteristics with him - was he adopted? Also continuity mistakes, given that Jim spent the first three series mocking Dave's Father for his mobility issues (I think even saying that he was a wheelchair user).
The only funny bit was the cuppa soup starter/seconds.
