Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinbrgh Prince Philip made a Royal Visit to the South Australian town of her namesake, Elizabeth, which is situated north of Adelaide, in the local district region of the City of Playford, all in South Australia, on 21st February 1963.
This film was produced by the South Australian Government Tourist Bureau for the South Australian Housing Trust.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth said during her Royal Visit to Elizabeth depicted in this film: "I am delighted to find that Elizabeth has grown into such an attractive and thriving community".
So the Royal Entourage would not be distracted by Australian blow-flies the whole region of Windsor Green underwent pest control and was sprayed with insecticide prior to the event.
A second Royal Visit was made to the township of Elizabeth in South Australia in 1977 which was about fourteen years after the 1963 Royal Visit which is depicted in this film.
