Juvenile and Shallow

It passes beyond belief that this film has an IMDb rating of over 8 as I write this. I can only assume that this film's rating is generously bolstered by its own cast, crew, and producers voting prolifically for this dumb movie. Cliched characters, old jokes, and a few generous topless scenes of the ladies round up this movie's dim attempts at humor. Think Caddyshack, Meatballs, or American Pie only much, much worse. All of those movies are well worth watching. This one . . . not so much. You can rent it in SD on Amazon for $1.99 if you don't value either your time or your money. This movie is destined to be showcased on some future generation's Mystery Science Theater spoof show where puppets make fun of stupid movies that were only of interest to the film school dropouts that made them. I created an IMDb user account for the sole purpose of writing a review of this film in the desperate hope that my review might prevent another hapless person from wasting 90 minutes of their lives. Viewers contemplating watching this film would be better off watching Manos the Hands of Fate or Godzilla vs. Mothra. Yes, both are shallow, stupid, and poorly made. But at least they have some cultural relevance as touchstones or reference points for movies that suck.

I attempted to watch this shambolic, amateur effort because of the glowing reviews and at the time 8.5 rating here on IMDb. Don't make the same error. The reviews currently showing 10/10 are obviously uploaded by those trying to promote the movie. It's an objectively bad movie. Maybe not the 1/10 I gave it but post misleading reviews on your own movie and I'm going to mark you down. Let you work be judged on it's own merits.

I would hardly give this a 10, I think 6 is fair for the story, the sex is definitely unnecessary and some of the scenes should have never been included. There is a message, regarding relationships, old and new, and some truth to them. I doubt I would have spent a night in that accommodation or accepted the intrusions if I had.

I watched the movie from start to end without falling asleep even once. I must say that it did not fail to entertain and it kept me laughing until the end.

There were a couple of funny parts. The acting though, was not very good. The one guy who played "Preston" definitely tried too hard as an actor. His scenes felt awkward. Honestly, the two stars that I did give this movie, were because of "Felix." That kid Dino, has a big on-screen personality, as I've seen him in a few other works as well. He's got serious potential, I'm looking forward to seeing him in other projects.

Found this one on amazon randomly late night and gave it a whirl. really glad i did. it was hysterically funny and ended up being kind of deep too.

Not sure why this is rated so low. Seems folks are trying to make up for the 10-star ratings by giving it 1, and the lower numbers apparently won out. This came across in my 'recommended' movies on Amazon, so I gave it a try. Seeing the low rating, I figured it might be one of those "so bad it's funny" movies, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was genuinely funny, and also thought the story was well executed without getting corny. Most of the characters came across as likable with redeeming qualities, and their problems were very realistic. Never heard of any of the performers, nor recall seeing them in anything else, but, while none gave Oscar-worthy performances, they were certainly passable. I think it's worth your time.

hilarious with a lot of heart

It seems like a silly, raunchy comedy at first but as it develops, it actually gets really deep and heartfelt. Super funny and entertaining, I laughed out lout a lot. But ultimately I was quite moved and it made me think about some relationships in my life. Awesome movie, I'm going to watch it again for sure.

Me and my girlfriend happened upon this movie through the recommendation of a friend and we had a great time watching it. This is a comedy film with a lot of depth and heart to it. We both laughed, my girlfriend cried and for the past few days we can't stop referencing a bunch of the jokes.

If you're like us and you like to smile and laugh, this movie is definitely worth a watch!

Funny but Poignant Also

Clever story, enchanting cinematography, excellent casting, especially Capt. Hagen and his son, Felix. Surprisingly, a definite strike against toxic masculinity by portraying exactly the opposite - vulnerable and logical men. Tasteful and funny nudity. Loved the impromptu group therapy sessions in the garden and the penis enlargement lessons.

Terrific Indie Comedy

There's a lot more than meets the eye in this one. It's a very funny silly raunchy comedy but there are layers underneath the comedy. I thought it was kind of dumb at first but then realized that it's actually a really intelligent commentary on men and their relationships with women. I had a lot of laughs but also made me reflect on my life. It was sweet and touching too.

It's hard to describe this movie easily. On one hand, it's a sex romp with nudity and random sexual hijinx. But on the other hand, it is a deep examination of toxic masculinity and what it means to be a man. So silly and graphic, but also heartfelt and poignant. Definitely not your standard fare.

A surprisingly funny indie jaunt

You will enjoy this movie. Perhaps reluctantly, but you will laugh. It's an embarrassing, lewd, yet strangely heartwarming screwball comedy. With Marx bros style gags and corny, yet meaningful moments, it comes in contrast with the tropes of big budget movies while still having a wide appeal. Impressive!

One of those hidden indie gems

First of all this is truly an independent feature in every sense of the word. When I saw this at a local film festival I was surprised that this was completely created independent from any production house. I had a lot of fun watching this and was surprised to see how well it balances over the top humor with really poignant charterer growth. Definitely worth the watch!!!

I love off-beat, quirky films. Most of my favs end up being indie creations. This one is now top of my list. Yes, there's sex. And yes, the movie takes a bit of time to develop. But the relationships are real, the feelings are explored in such creative ways and the humor is totally laugh out loud stuff. I totally enjoyed the characters and their interaction. The resolutions were oh so satisfying and up-beat. Don't let the poor reviews fool you. Watch this film!

Hilarious, quirky, with some suprising depth

I enjoyed the movie. It has some scenes that were hilarious. If you ever stayed at a B&B you will probably enjoy it.

It dealt with the surprisingly deep relationship issues amidst the humor.

Just stay away from that top room!

Uniquely heartwarming story, gentle introduction, with some genius comedy. Relatable characters, and extremely enjoyable From the start to the finish. Turned it on expecting to turn it off after a few minutes, and was hooked straight away, a new household favourite! Don't normally like or watch independent movies, but this was so good. It cheered my wife up massively who was feeling pretty blue and it's so good that it's actually lead me to creating an imbd account and writing my first ever review!! Just watch it, some parts won't be for everyone, but on the whole we really think it's a 10/10

I'm glad I didn't read any reviews or look at the rating as I probably would have given it a miss

This film takes you on a journey of discovery . It's theme is love and in the tradition of Shakespeare's midsummers night dream love isn't always where you expect it .

In order to be loved you must love yourself so the advice goes and there you have a group of misfits grouped together in an eccentric bed and breakfast ran by an eccentric host and his family .

This is a true gem , it's the sort of story that generally only French cinema is able to tell well . It doesn't matter where it is it set it is a film about people and the it's the motley bunch of people that really make this film - not least the very odd son
