Arrow's seventh season has been quite a solid one thus far, with "Level Two" thankfully continues the forward momentum in more than one way. Evidently so, yet again, some storylines still aren't exactly perfect and this time, it's a bit of a problem. Oliver's (Stephen Amell) Slabside ordeal was a dark, drug-infused guilt-trip down memory lane, bolstered by Amell's fine acting and the superior writing. That was, as it always is, the best part of any chapter so far in Arrow's seventh outing. Star City, and its heroes faced a tedious, but decent threat this week with some pyromaniacs, a theme that played into the episode's overall look. Orangey lighting was a trademark this week. Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) and Rene (Rick Gonzalez) had a very compelling arc this week, discussing the moral rights and wrongs of vigilantism. As for Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), their shared screen-time was sadly short-lived, as the interrogation of Silencer (Miranda Edwards) proved rather tame, but wrapped on a surprising note. There has been huge development with the flash-forwards as well, with some serious budget behind the return to an apocalyptic Star City. It is safe to say, the mystery continues to build. All in all, "Level Two" is a decent chapter in season seven. Not an overly flashy, action-packed one, but an important one for several characters. Unfortunately, the stories are still cluttered at times, which hinder an overall focus.
