This volume of the long-running Girlfriends series features a memorable, nearly hour-long segment teaming Brandi Love and Jodi West (2 icons Adult Cinema) but otherwise drops the ball in 3 other boring scenes of Sapphic lovemaking.
Brandi is suffering marital problems, so she goes to old friend Jodi to cry on her shoulder. West sympathizes, especially with Love's not getting any sex from her hubby for several months now, and soothes her with lesbian lovemaking, a first for Brandi's character. This is a highly erotic bit of cinema, with both ladies very sympathetic, leading to a satisfying heart-felt conclusion.
The overall Girlfriends "Lesbian Seductions" series, now in its 12th year, is subtitled "Older/Younger", but this 52-minute vignette deviates from that approach by casting same-generation actresses here, Brandi being 9 years younger but both playing as contemporaries.
The opening vignette adheres to the May-December romance format but results are mundane. Zoey Holloway beds young Lily Carter in the curtain- raiser, which overemphasizes a dumb panty-sniffing obsession. Fans will recall Lily & Zoey teaming for a dozen "Please Make Me Lesbian!" series soap operas, of which this scene could be a leftover.
Remaining two segments again abandon Older/Younger precepts. Darryl Hanah portrays a control freak giving roommate Madelyn Marie (I thought this flash-in-the-pan star had retired)) a hard time over nothing, but sex conquers all.
And at the bottom of their game, superstars Jelena Jensen (sporting an unbecoming hairdo) and Girlfriends all-time favorite Prinzzess pair up with JJ unconvincing as a newbie seduced by P. in a decidedly mechanical sex scene.
Given both actresses' track records as top of the heap performers, this is really disappointing and further evidence that Girlfriends Films, despite its own laudable track record of success, would greatly benefit from hiring professional (and talented) scriptwriters rather than merely grinding out generic porn with minimal story set-ups.
