'Othello': The Two Versions (2017)

*** (out of 4)

Orson Welles' scholar Francois Thomas is interviewed for this eighteen-minute interview that takes a look at the alternate versions of the director's 1951 film OTHELLO. If you're familiar with the film then you know that there were two versions made. Thomas does a very good job at talking about the production of the film as well as the issues that came up that had Welles edit a second version. As Thomas states, they're not certain when this second cut was done but he goes into some good details about the differences in the two. Fans of OTHELLO will certainly enjoy this featurette as Thomas shares some very good stories about the history of the two versions and he also gives you a good idea of what the differences were.
