The Season 11 quarter-finals took place on “The Masked Singer” Wednesday, May 8 on “The Final Four Night.” After singing their hearts out for panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora, Gumball and Poodle Moth landed in the bottom two and were forced to sing for a spot in the semi-finals. The Gumball prevailed, forcing Poodle Moth to reveal herself as Golden Globe nominee Chrissy Metz (“This is Us”). Watch her unmasking above.
“I still think I’m educating people on me being a singer,” she told host Nick Cannon during her unmasked interview. “It was part of the reason why I wanted to do this show. If I’m going to do it, we’re really going full-throttle. You don’t know how much sweat is in this suit. I said, ‘Let me challenge myself,’ and I’m glad I did. I learned a lot about myself.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Masked Singer Season 11 Episode 10 “Quarter Finals: Final Four.”] And then there were three. The Masked Singer is getting closer and closer to naming another winner, with Clock, Goldfish, Gumball, and Poodle Moth competing in the quarterfinals. Sadly, one had to go home, and the celebrity in the Poodle Moth costume was none other than This Is Us star and singer Chrissy Metz. Below, Metz talks about her time on the show. First of all, it’s hard enough to sing without a costume on, and then the lights and the pressure and the audience and the judges… Music is my first love. So it was something that I wanted to do and I love to do, but I was like, can I do it? I don’t know if...

“I wasn’t competing for my life,” says Grammy-nominated singer Ruben Studdard when comparing his recent appearance on “The Masked Singer” to winning “American Idol” in 2003. “The stakes were much higher for me on ‘American Idol’ than they will ever be on ‘The Masked Singer.’ I wanted to win, but it’s just completely different.” Studdard competed on the Fox reality TV competition with his pal Clay Aiken as Beets, who adds, “‘The Masked Singer’ pays so much better.” Watch their exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson above.
The duo lost the Group B finals to Gumball, and were sent home after belting out “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston. “I am not competitive at all,” Clay admits when asked if he was upset. “I have gotten so good at losing shows that if I had won I would probably be more upset because it would ruin my reputation.

“It’s always fun as an actor coming out as an alter identity where you’re fully immersed in it,” says Corey Feldman, who was unmasked as Seal on “The Masked Singer” Thursday night. “You get to actually play into the character. If you read the headline and are asking yourselves, pilots? what pilots? — you are not wrong. It’s been largely a 2024 pilot season without pilots. A grand total of maybe one of them is expected to factor into any fall decisions as the broadcast networks prepare to unveil their schedules, starting with CBS tomorrow, May 2.

With the Group B Finals just hours away (Fox, 8/7c), it’s time to make our final guesses about another one of The Masked Singer‘s secret celebrities. In fact, let’s make it a twofer this week.
That’s right, we’re talking about this season’s nutritious, harmonious duo — the Beets! Like the judges, we were also stumped when they first sauntered onto the scene back in March. Heck, at one point we even thought that Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele might have been masquerading as the pair of root vegetables.

Can you tell who has a “good” voice and who has a “bad” voice just by looking someone in the face who is lip-syncing to a song? This is the question posed to participants weekly on the Fox game show I Can See Your Voice, hosted and created by Ken Jeong.
“The whole show is predicated on, is this a ‘good’ singer or a ‘bad’ singer without ever hearing them actually hearing them sing,” Jeong tells Deadline during a panel at its Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted awards-season event. “We use visual clues, lip-sync clues, and like detective kind of clues. At the end of the day, the contestant has an opportunity to win life-changing money by determining if the final secret voice is good or bad. And if it is good, then they can win up to $100,000. It’s really just feel-good television at its best.”

Fans await the cast reveal for Dancing with the Stars Season 33, as each season brings various stars from acting, singing, social media, and sports.
Many sports stars have captured the coveted Mirrorball Trophy, now named the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, in the late DWTS judge’s honor.
Rumors suggested the show’s producers wanted to score big by bringing basketball superstar Caitlin Clark in for the upcoming season.
Clark captured much attention throughout the college basketball season, and DWTS desperately wanted her as part of the cast.
However, an insider says despite them “bending over backwards” to get Clark on the show, she “respectfully declined.”
That was due to Clark having other things to focus on, including her basketball career, and she has her eye on a few shows on which she’d prefer to appear.

Iowa’s Caitlin Clark took the sports world by storm this year.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Masked Singer Season 11 Episode 8 “Girl Group Night.”] With the latest elimination, The Masked Singer unveiled another legendary diva—and she’s not at all surprised that at least one panelist guessed who she was. Miss Cleocatra, The Beets, Gumball, and the new wildcard Seal took the stage for Girl Group Night. After the initial performances, it was Miss Cleocatra and Seal who faced off in the Smackdown—with “Waterfalls” by TLC—and then it was the former who was eliminated. And under the mask was actress and Broadway performer Jenifer Lewis! Saying yes to The Masked Singer came down to “my friends made me get out of bed. I’d had an accident,” Lewis tells TV Insider, referring to her 10-foot fall off a balcony while vacationing in Africa in late 2022. “I was convalescing at the time, and they said, ‘Get up and go do what you love to do.

Welcome to Global Breakouts, Deadline’s fortnightly strand in which we shine a spotlight on the TV shows and films making noise in their local territories. The industry is as globalized as it’s ever been, but breakout hits are appearing in pockets of the world all the time and it can be hard to keep track. So we’re going to do the hard work for you.
This month, we head to the European nation of Belgium for the first time. Belgium’s Traitors-producing neighbor the Netherlands tends to get the lion’s share of the Benelux region’s format plaudits but there’s plenty good stuff coming from the home of Hercule Poirot, and one such series is 99 to Beat. The fun, playful show in which to win you simply can’t lose, was recently picked up by ITV in the UK and conversations with U.S. buyers are well underway.
