Sorry, I don't write reviews on here I just want to set the record straight. The other review that states Man and Dogman's dog/owner dynamic started AFTER Samson's death is only partially true. It's alluded that Man was in a relationship with Dogman BEFORE they lost Samson, hence the photoset of them together with Samson when he was still alive. They are BOTH mourning.
Anyway, a beautifully-made film, made my heart ache in all the right ways. Common misconception being that Man and Dogman's relationship is rooted in kink really irks me, because it's just not the case. At the very least, it's not implied that it has anything to do with sex.
Julian's portrayal as "Samson" is incredible, his facial expressions and body language really bring it all home for me.
Matthew's performance is perfectly blunt and emotional. It's hard to decipher how he's feeling from his actions. Which is EXACTLY how grief is.
The love Man has for his Dog is apparent, and the love they have for eachother shines through.
