It can be hard to let go of a good, successful thing and Netflix is in no hurry to give up on Stranger Things even as Season 5 is planned as the final run for the main show. We have a prequel story play headed to London stages this year and plenty of talk of potential spin-offs. One is closer than any of the others, as the streaming service has ordered an animated series based on the hit show.
Zero story details have escaped the Upside Down about this one, save for the fact that it'll be set in the world of the show. Behind the scenes, it has the backing of series creators the Duffer Brothers and has been developed by Eric Robles and Flying Bark Productions. Robles has previously created the animated shows Random! Cartoons, Fanboy & Chum Chum, and Glitch Techs.

It's worth noting that the Duffers have more than one "Stranger Things" project in the works through Upside Down Pictures. In addition to the animated series, for which plot details are currently unavailable, they...

When the BAFTA and Oscar nominations were announced earlier this month, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ “Dune” received a total of 21 nominations, including the highly coveted Best Picture nomination from each group.
“Dune” is about a young white man from the fictional planet Atreides. He develops his special abilities and fulfills his destiny by saving the planet Arrakis and its people from the brutal Harkonnen empire. Arrakis, a desert planet where the Fremen people live, is the location of the rare and powerful substance called spice that is used for space travel and needed to save the universe. The Fremen’s environment is reminiscent of the Middle East, including a language that happens to contain Arabic words. Additionally, the style of dress is not unlike what one might find in the Middle East.

The Covid-19 pandemic has ushered in a new appreciation for streaming platforms while families are “together at home.” Variety recently reported that the streaming competition depends on strong children’s content. Kids have always needed creative, educational and inclusive stories. But during this time of self-isolation, the streamers have become a conduit to the outside and a way to stay connected to a world that is full of diversity. Today’s most innovative storytellers are cultivating children’s stories diverse as real life by amplifying worlds inclusive of all gender identities told by immigrants, the disabled, Lgbtq, Muslims, Latinx, indigenous, black, Asian and all people of color.
