Tom and Joe actually got fan mail from a few folks, none from New York City!, because of the broadcast of this independent series. Their first autograph requests were from Romania (no joke).
It was the creation, filming and editing of this limited run television series that lead to the creation of the motion picture The Man also featuring Tom Wilson, Joe Malone and Gib Von Bach.
Joe Malone, Tom Wilson and Gib Von Bach filmed the Chowtime Video Review series at their headquarters which was located in the East Vilage, NY NY on 13th street, between 2nd and 3rd avenues. Because of this all of the food places they reviewed on the show were between a 4 block New York radius of their Chowtime headquarters.
Lucas Birmelin, later an actor who collaborated with Joe, Tom, and Gib over the course of two movies, has a small role in one of the Chowtime episodes playing a pizza delivery guy. In one of his later roles in Suburban Drug Lords, he plays a would be assassin posing as a pizza delivery guy.
Joe Malone was fired from the Chowtime Video Review television series after 8 episodes because Tom Wilson and Gib Von Bach agreed that Joe was "too out there", drinking and smoking on the set and generally creating to many "comedic disturbances" on camera. Tom and Gib went on to continue the show for another 10 episodes under the title Cinema Cafe.
