Horrendous
rodneydarby10 December 2021
Everything about this film was bad ... from the outrageously unrealistic storyline ... to the HORRENDOUS acting ... and God knows I tried to like this ... I can't get that time back.

Different points of view

I read the comments here and make me sad to think some people think just because someone is 50, they can only find love with someone at similar age. Both are unhappy but they are trying to change that. That is the magic about life. I trully believe this film deserves some credit.

My life was this movie
mcwilliamsjeaneen8 August 2021
When I started to watch this movie, I didn't get it. Then I became emotionally attached to the main character turning 50 and in an abusive relationship. This movie, as a straight woman, I was depressed and in a complacent abusive relationship with my husband. I felt old and that I needed to stay with him. After watching this film, I realized life is not over at 50. His boyfriend was as nasty as my husband! When I watched Peter realize that he was worth more than that controlling man......I changed my life, and left my mean controlling husband. Life is not over at 50. It's just beginning. Thanks to this movie I am looooooving life and feel free! It resonated with me and changed my life for the better. Life is just beginning at 50.

Good true life move!!!!

Being a gay man in his 50s, this is a very good account of some people's trust life. I love this movie...YES PEOPLE.. THIS CAN AND DOES HAPPEN!!!! Not to give it away if you haven't seen the movie yet, it is possible to fall in love with someone over a weekend. If you are in touch with real life and not living in a imaginary world of this cant happen...you just need to watch and see for yourself..I GIVE IT TWO THUMBS UP👍👍. GREAT JOB!!!!

Love is love

Doesn't matter age. Doesn't matter your weight. Straight, guy, bi, whatever. Love is love. And we need more films that show what REAL relationships are like.

Love as it is meant to be. Crazy, confusing, and outta nowhere!

Warning: Spoilers
When two people meet they either spark or not. It is plainly apparent that Peter and Caleb explode into a multitude of emotions as they connect. The aging aspect is secondary to the emotional abuse Peter is/was experiencing with his ex and the stress Caleb is undergoing struggling with his own sexuality. The story is very well told and the acting is genuine. I have personally felt "love at first site" It may not be absolute TRUE LOVE but it is love in a very innocent form. They get hot and heavy as well, but loves true innocence is captured here extremely well.

A Weekend of Self Discovery...and a Hope for Love
wlutz-412 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Amidst the Universe of films that offer a glimpse into an unhappy but lovable soul that is hoping for real love but resigned to being emotionally lonely until lightning strikes while Father Time keeps marching along, Ripples Of Water delivers a bittersweet but ultimately warm slice of life.

This film is a big gay fantasy movie and character study for familiar people you may know quite well. Our main character of Peter here is more fortunate that he realizes. He is surrounded by plenty of loving friends who care about him very much...all of whom hope he can find a love that he deserves. Assembled to celebrate his 50th Birthday, the outpouring is there. But Peter is hopelessly depressed, feeling insecure about his appearance at his age while he is settling for an unfulfilling relationship. Peter tells us here that it takes a long time to figure out who you are as a person, and the anxiety about failing in a new relationship can cripple your happiness before it even gets off the ground.

Along comes a gentleman caller type 20 years his junior who is on an equally difficult discovery journey...and paths collide like magic. Chemistry happens. Some opening up and vulnerable moments allow a little time for a connection. But, although weekends come and go quickly, hope can survive given an open mind.

Carlo does a great job with Peter. We root for him. We want to give him strength. We want him to be happy. To pull this off, you need a performance that we can relate to and wrap our arms around. Carlo draws us into his Peter and we feel his emotion and journey.

The film is a wonderful way to spend time with people you would love to call your friends. With a warm and hopeful ending, the film harkens back to romantic comedies of past...and ones you can never get enough of.

Maybe improbable but wonderful
Spectator8818 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Loved, loved, loved this movie. It works so well on so many levels. Exploring the life of a middle-age gay man who is dealing with all his relationships and larger life issues. Gian Carlo Durland is wonderful in the lead role as he struggles to reconcile all his emotions. Supporting cast is strong and they look like real people.. Phil Korz.is seriously hot as the younger man who comes into his life. There is much humor particularly conveyed when the lead character looks at the camera and addresses the viewer directly. All in all this film has a great vibe that stands up under repeated viewings. Highly recommended!
