Mark Lindsay was hired by Johnny Carson's TV production company to play John Lennon in the NBC made for TV movie: "John & Yoko: A Love Story" (1985) in cooperation with Yoko Ono Lennon. But then Mark Lindsay was fired because his full name was Mark Lindsay Chapman. Mark David Chapman assassinated John Lennon on December 8, 1980. It was reported Yoko was 'horrified' when she learned of Mark Lindsay's full name. Mark appeared on The Tonight Show (2nd time. The show ran late on avoiding his first appearance to promote an NBC made for TV movie he starred in called "The Annihilator"). He admitted to being paid $10,000.00 to play Lennon in front of his former boss (Carson).
