An opening establishing shot shows the Houses of Parliament with the superimposed date "1965". Parliament's Yorkshire stone has only been seen in its original yellow/golden colour since the extensive restoration which took place from 1981 to 1994. In the 1960s and '70s, the Houses of Parliament were almost black.
Numerous errors such as in a scene set in 1974 the caravan Scott is living in bears a T (1978) number plate. Many 1970's Plessey Press Button phones present in 1960s scenes.
When Mr. Bessell checks into the Dublin hotel there is a push-button (touch-tone) telephone clearly visible on the reception desk. The touch-tone phone was only initially released in a small U.S. test market in November 1963 and wasn't widely available until well into the 1970's.
