Whoa! Too much FUN!
sscialli10 December 2018
I really find crossovers sort of lame trying to boost ratings, but not just ratings will be boosted! As The Flash makes fun of Green-Arrow and vice verse as it's so COOL to watch them try playing their parts as lame-o's! This story works and now I'm looking forward to Parts 2 & 3!

Part 1 of the Elseworlds crossover, off to a great start
Holt34410 December 2018
This episode was great from start to finish, seeing all the characters crossing over once again but this time with Superman and Smallville! The nostalgia hit me with the Smallville intro song, Save Me. I haven't liked Arrowverse's Superman but in this episode I have to say he brings the character to justice. I don't know yet about Lois Lane, the actress does a good job to catch the spirit of the character, time will tell. The dialogue is the other highlight, it feels natural and them joking about the constant motivational speeches made my day. Seeing The Flash and Green Arrow actors switch costumes was better than I thought. The first part of the crossover didn't tell us much but it was a great start to an epic adventure to come!

Amazing Start
Sam_Morningstar10 December 2018
'Elseworlds Part 1' is the first episode for the crossover this year. The acting was outstanding especially Grant's and Stephen's. The character swap shows the versatility and adaptability of the actors. There were a lot of Funny Moments,References and Easter Eggs which were a treat for the fans. The directors did an amazing job. The action was on point and the ending was well shot.

I hope that the crossover will continue in the Same Direction.

Loved the beginning

Warning: Spoilers
I completely loved the 1st episode to the elseworlds Crossover. And as a fan of Smallville! I cried when they introduced Smallville with the original tv series theme song! It made me super happy to see and hear it again. I was hoping to see a familiar face from the old show but I'm happy with what I got. Can't wait for arrow and supergirl.

Perfect Start
caravindan199410 December 2018
As from the teaser we know Oliver and Barry are the only people who knew they've switched characters and the first 20 minutes were super funny when they were trying put sense into the team that something was indeed actually wrong. Barry and Oliver's exchanges in Earth-38 was perfect.

The only negative thing I have to say about this episode was Iris West constantly speaking to Barry in every one out of 3 conversations like don't be Oliver Queen or don't become Oliver Queen like he's one of the worst people she knows in this world. Other than that what I didn't like was that Barry didn't defend Oliver when she was speaking that way. Other than this perfect episode and a superb start to the cross over.

Enter Elseworlds
ThomasDrufke10 December 2018
Aside from a great episode here or there, the past few seasons of these CW shows have been less than stellar. So I look forward to these crossover episodes because I know there isn't much substance beyond these few nights. The beginning of Elseworlds was an exciting one, even if the pacing was much slower than last year's Crisis.

Body swapping humor in movies/TV shows is usually perfect for humor and the first 20 minutes of Oliver/Barry realizing they have switched bodies is pure gold. Hearing Oliver say "You have failed this city" in the Flash suit was incredible, as was watching Barry get payback on Oliver for the arrows in the back from 2014. Oh, and I will never get tired of seeing Diggle puke after seeing or experiencing super speed.

Bringing Superman into the fold only added to the fun. Oliver trying to puff up to Clark? I mean come on. I can only assume they took note from the Starlord/Thor dynamic back in the spring, but it was still a great moment. Which gave Amazo just one more ability to copy and emulate, which was a cool action sequence, even if I could have used a more layered villain to kick off the crossover.

We'll see how the next two nights turn out but boy was this a fun kick off to the 5th (and technically 6th) crossover of the Arrowverse.

Almost perfect

Amazing episode, absolutely hilarious!

The 2 things that really annoyed me however is:

1. SUPERMAN AND SUPERWOMAN ARE NOT METAS!!! Their powers should NOT have been able to be replicated! That was a huge plot hole

2. Iris kept ******** on Oliver like he's the worst person on earth. Where did this come from? That made no sense.

But overall still a very good episode.

Excellence.
dcolyer11 December 2018
This was an outstanding episode and fantastic start to the Arrowverse's Elseworlds Trilogy. Everything was really good! It had an excellent blend of heart, humor, and spectacle and was just a real pleasure to watch. Everything from the acting and the FX to the scoring was just so spot on.

The interaction between Gustin and Amell was a joy to watch. Those guys obviously have such a great chemistry together; it's very obvious that they're pals in real life. Great stuff.

Big kudos to the writers Wallace and Chalsen. You all nailed it.

I really dig this version of Superman played by Tyler Hoechlin. It's an old school portrayal in which Supes is just a super nice and humble guy. Sure would like to see more of him.

It's great that two recent episodes from The Flash season 5 have cracked into my top 20 episodes for The Flash ("What's Past is Prologue" and "Elseworlds, Part One").

Bravo!

My score: 9.5/10

Grade: A

Overall the storyline is quite lighthearted with a load of one-liners and little laughs. Was great to see Superman make an appearance, could this open the door to a superman tv series?? I hope so!

Nice black comedy for Part 1
asb_deutsch12 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Cometh time and we get the 101th episode. Nice to see side actors off the screen and we all knew that there is going to be a switch-up just to create humor.

Team Flash locking them in the meta-cell was way too over-directional. But we guess that it is better than Crisis on Earth-X. Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) was looking a little old but yes, Ii was a treat to see Kara (Melissa Benoist) again! The only negative point was that of Amazo replicating non-metas like Kent and Kara. That is the blackhole in this episode.

My ratings (based on what I marked on IMDb): Season 1: 200/23 = 8.69; Season 2: 193/23= 8.23; Season 3: 188/23= 8.17; Season 4: 146/23= 6.65 and Season 5= 63/9 = 7.0

Great episode with alot of humour
helsiing11 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Enjoyed this so much, as a flash and Barry fan I really enjoyed his take on the green arrow. Laidback and enjoying himself, messing around with his new "abilites" and also messing with the more serious Oliver Queen.

I do not watch supergirl anymore but the actor doing Clark Kent/Superman is doing a great job!

One final comment, it's great with a good chapter-closuring. A bad guy was taken down and that left us with no clues what's coming up next episode. I like that!

Sorry for the english / a Swedish flash-fan

Something is wrong with reality
highmarksreviews11 December 2018
Well, folks. It's here. The Arrowverse's annual crossover event "Elseworlds" had one of the network's most bizarre, inclusive and funny episodes to kick it all off. I absolutely loved the fact that the show runners and writers poked fun at each others programs, capitalising on the fact that Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Barry (Grant Gustin) are in different bodies. The body-swap element made up a key part of the humour this week, as well as the inner struggles of each character. I like the fact that Oliver has to add a little more light to his Flash persona, while Barry needs to darken up a bit to play the Green Arrow. All that was superb not to mention Earth 38 and the Kent Farm being excellently introduced. It was a treat to see Kara (Melissa Benoist), Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) together in the sunny retreat, trying to make sense of yet another Earth 1 crisis. The only weak point in all this cavalcade was the setup and the villain. Sure, LaMonica Garrett's Monitor made a decent debut as well his sidekick, a crazed Arkham doctor, but the AMAZO robot felt like last year's Metallo on steroids and its only purpose was to help the super team realise they needed teamwork. The end tease with Wayne Enterprises sent a jolt of excitement of the screen that will surely continue to last well into the crossover event. Part 1 of Elseworlds is the most fun the Arrowverse has ever been, but also found time to send its main characters on a deeper, emotional journey. Sure, the villain-of-the-week mechanic stuck, but the setup was good enough to keep the excitement going.

One question
songod-9500314 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Enjoyable start to this three part crossover (hey when is this Superman going to get his own CW show? He's perfect.) but one issue bugged me...

Why did Barry's team not believe him?? Has he ever given them reason to not believe him in the past (have not watched his show before this)?? With all the stuff these folks have dealt with and seen why would it be so hard to believe both Barry and Oliver??

This was an amazing start. I always love the crossover events. With Superman now in the mix its only getting better. I am in for a Justice League crossover with all of the Arrow-verse and even included Blacklightning and crew. One can only wish.

The Flash 5.09 (4 out of 5 stars).

The episode sets up another crossover of the season. This time Barry and Oliver wake up in each other bodies. They travel to where Supergirl is to get help and find out why.

The episode delivers some fun action with Arrow, Supergirl, and Flash teaming up to fight against some droid looking thing that can absorb their powers. It is fast paced and exciting. It ends with a cliffhanger of an appearance of Batgirl.

Not going to do much of a review considering this is a crossover, but "Elseworlds, Part 1" delivers all you could ask for in a crossover and manages to not only be heartfelt, but fun all the same.

Freaky Friday

I look forward to these crossovers every year, they are so awesome and most of the time end up being the best week for these CW shows out of the whole year. Tonight's opening did not disappoint! We got humour, drama, action and romance. It was so much fun.

The humour during the first half of the episode was absolutely priceless. Barry freaking out over the thought of Oliver and Iris in the same bed. Cisco telling Oliver off for saying "You have failed this city in the Flash suit". And Barry shooting Oliver in the back as payback was just way too good.

As a big fan of Young Justice it was great to see Amazo get his run as a villain. Across all of the DC related shows that Amazo has been on, he always bring great action fight scenes, and this episode was no exception. The fight scene between Amazo and the CW Justice League was so awesome that I've watched that fight scene alone 3 times.

Bring on Gotham City!

A very good start to the crossover that we all have been waiting for! Oliver being Barry and Barry being Oliver is quite a different perspective. The buildup of this story is fascinating and at the end we see view of Gotham and Batwoman for the first time in CW. Hope it continues to be a remarkable crossover, like always!
