The people in the two episodes I watched are nice, everyday people, not sniping spouses trying to get what THEY want, so I like that part. I am a little puzzled why with such huge budgets ($600,000) or so, they don't just look for other existing homes, rather than renovating properties. I have no idea what Minneapolis real estate goes for, but in looking at the neighborhoods they are in, it would seem that amount of money could surely purchase a nice home without all the work of renovation.

Once Is Enough

This is one of the worst shows HGTV has to offer. I wouldn't let Brad and Heather build or design any home I would even think of buying. These two just have a boring personality, it's like they are reading a script from the other HGTV shows.

Another in HGTV's long line of gentrification bomb shows, with another apparently quirky couple. HGTV played this again recently, probably as pandemic filler while waiting for the Property Brothers to film another 556 bland-as-laminate shows. It's another attempt to clone the success of other shows. The lead couple seem nice, but I wouldn't want to have an artisanal brew with them.
