Stack the deck

For me, this has to be the most well balanced episode of season 2 yet. The writers seem to have gradually won me over with Amy's character as I felt she started off too judgemental, but they have developed her in a way that allows for a more enjoyable chemistry between her and Frank.

Shows like this need some lighter scenes like these to stop the episodes from becoming too monotonous and grim. As a result, the stunning action scene seems more earned by the end of the episode and was executed very well.

Plot Development

Amy and Frank have great rapport and their scenes are always so strong. I really enjoy her character development and arc; she is an asset to the show and adds more dimension to Frank. This episode is well-balanced between plot and character development and action.

I kinda miss a few things...
juanbks1521 January 2019
The episode itself starts with Frank and Amy playing cards. Yes, you heard well: Frank Castle having fun with a liar, ungrateful, blackmailer, disrespectful kid. How is it possible? Remember that episode in season one, when Sarah's son acted like a prick and pissed off Frank? And Frank opted for scaring the hell out of him with that knife? Now tell me... Why doesn't he do the same? Instead of that, he enjoys her company. My God! He even talked about his family, about her daughter with Amy! As far as I remember, in season one, the only time Frank talked about his son was to Karen on that bridge scene.

I think they messed up this season by putting that character and what bothers me most is that they are trying to build a connection between them. And no, that's absolutely ridiculous. They are so different. And watching Frank act like that, makes me wonder... What did they do to this season?

Yeah, Amy's story gives us a pretty cool action scenes but nothing more... It's cool for a filling short story to the season's main topic, but should have ended in two or maybe three episodes.

You know what I miss? I miss Micro, I miss Karen, Lewis and even Sarah... They were great characters. I miss those heart-touching talking moments we had with Frank. We got nothing yet, and I think it's disappointing because that's what made The Punisher different to other shows.

I am really hoping for a decent character to show up, I think the season needs it.

How are the cards stacked for Frank Castle?
DVD_Connoisseur20 January 2019
Frank has his meaty hands full in this brilliant fifth episode. Not only has he a physically and mentally scarred Jigsaw prowling the city, the troubled Pilgrim is also out to cause him and Amy significant harm.

Giorgia Whigham continues to impress as Amy. And she cleans up well after a spot of retail therapy, thanks to Madani's flexible friend.

We're also treated to an ultra violent set piece. I'll never look at a gym in quite the same way again.

10 out of 10. "What does bad look like?" Indeed.

Watch it for the gym scene

Pretty much the same as before, and the character of Amy is proving to be the most annoying in the whole of the show thanks to her continued listlessness. However, the gym scene is excellent and automatically raises the quality here.

I don't know

Warning: Spoilers
Yeah, I gave it 9/10 because even without any real plot, it's still much better than Luke Cage or Iron Fist just for that gym fight scene.

I still don't see it. Why is Frank Castle doing all that for a little girl he barely knows and worse, not only is she ungrateful but she did steal his van and also ran away a few times. There's no connection between those 2. She knows his background and has some sympathy for him but we know nothing about her. And couldn't care less. Had she lost her parents right in front of Frank then it could've been a better plot.. We would have no problem in believing Frank would go to extreme lengths to get justice for that girl.

Ah, there's the weird shrink.. she's boring.

What's Russo doing, really? Is he going to be the big bad guy of the season or what? He's just hanging around the shrink and drinking at random bars...

Absolutely stunning episode

Ilia volok is great as . Wonderful actor and hes twisted faith and rituals are very well acted. Also this episode Amber Rose revah as madani did maybe her best outcome in group of veterans. It is a joy to follow a chemistry between Frank and Amy. The gymfight. WOW! Jigsaw gets close to new friend. What becames to that relationship? Surely nothing good.

I also like the disturbing threathning atmosphere throughout the episode. This is one of the best punisher episodes. I have my doubt's to this season cause season one sets the bar so high. But seems to me punisher succeed. Hopefully Jon Bernthal finally gets an emmy nomination. And Barnes too. They deserves it. They dedicates to their roles and its a really joy to follow that kind of talent. 10/10!

One-Eyed Jacks

Warning: Spoilers
We had an epic fight scene involving weight equipment and as someone who loves to exercise that amused me greatly.

The rest of the episode felt very fillerish. This was them killing time while they build toward other stuff.

Is that woman ever happy?

Some solid action scenes, but still not much storyline progression. Madani's and Russo's scenes feel more like filler than anything.
