Sex & Nudity

  • Lead character Sakuta occasionally makes jokes about how he wishes Mai would date him. He also references kissing several times throughout the series. This series is tame compared to other romance anime.
  • A girl is accused of "sleeping around," however this is just a rumor a guy made up because he was mad she rejected him.
  • Contrary to the name and image of this anime, the fan-service present in this show is minimal and infrequent.
  • Occasionally, partial breasts are visible during bath scenes. No actual nudity.
  • Lots of sexual jokes/references in every episode, but not explicit.
  • A young girl says two times about how her brother probably doesn't like to wake up next to her because he wakes up "excited" and doesn't want to be in this kind of situation, both times are fast scenes.

Violence & Gore

  • Infrequent mild violence, such as two teenage boys briefly fighting. No blood or serious injury detail.
  • A teenage boy is briefly seen with a bloody wound.
  • Episode 3: Mai slaps Sakuta; played for laughs.

Profanity

  • Occasional use of mild coarse language ('damn', 'hell', 'bastard', 'ass', 'piss', 'crap', 'suck', 'die') in the official English subtitles.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In one episode, Sakuta takes some concentration drugs for a test.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Episode 10: Mai and Sakuta watch a horror movie. Scene is not long lasting but may frighten young viewers.
  • Nothing scary. However there are very frequent emotional scenes.
  • A teenage girl talks about how she made a social media account with suggestive pictures of her, how she regrets it and her feeling of being "unclean" The mood of the scene is not very heavy but it may be unsettling and cause sexual abuse triggers to sensitive viewers.

Sex & Nudity

  • The co-lead character, Mai Sakurajima, dresses in a bunny outfit for around two minutes. She does this in order to determine, based on the stares of others, whether or not she is invisible.
