From the Oval Office, Nixon watches the protestors outside as he drinks. Kissinger and Thor are there with Nixon, who tells them about the protestors outside and complains. Thor says that when they discussed how it would play out, Nixon was going to take some lumps. Nixon says that the protestors want his head, and they need to stop the war. Thor tells Nixon that the war is performing an important function, and Kissinger agrees with Thor.
Thor says that if people are focused on the war, they won't think about the Americans going missing. He points out that they all knew that creating a human-alien hybrid would take generations, and Kissinger asks Thor how much more time his people need. Thor says that they'll have the first functional hybrid in 2021, and Kissinger points out that the Vietnam War won't last 50 years. The alien liaison says that his people have a whole menu of distractions lined up.
When Nixon says that he's not going to sacrifice his career as a "distraction", Thor tells him that distractions can come in many forms, and leaves. Nixon wonders if Thor threatened him, and Kissinger holds a handkerchief to his cheek and says it's his allergies. The President tells him to go take care of it, and Kissinger leaves and looks at his sagging cheek in a hallway mirror. The alien briefly extends his tongue and then continues on his way.
Three Years Earlier
lke is in his bed, watching the TV showing footage about the people protesting against Nixon. He complains about Nixon, and Mamie tells him that Nixon isn't so bad. He points out Kissinger on the TV, and says that he looks like a reptile. Mamie isn't convinced, and Ike tells Mamie that the second race of aliens are among them, and Thor's people abducted one of them. They dispose of the body so humans wouldn't know there was competition, but Ike sees them everywhere.
Mamie doesn't believe Ike, and talks about the holidays she's brought about in the U.S. and how she plans to make Evacuation Day in Boston is celebrated nationwide. Ike has Mamie change his bedpan.
Thor goes to Ike's room.
Ike tells Mamie that he doesn't deserve to feel better. Thor comes in and Ike tells him to get out. The liaison suggests that they take Ike to Area 51 and heal him, but Ike figures that he deserves to die for signing the treaty. Thor tells Ike that his people still hold Ike in the highest esteem, and he's helping to save their kind. Ike says that he only cares about his kind, and tells Thor that he isn't stupid, and that Thor and Mamie deserve each other. With that, he dies. Mamie kisses her deceased husband on the brow, and Thor turns off the TV. Mamie says that she isn't going to die like Ike.
1972
Nixon orders Gordon Liddy in, and tells him that the "powers that be" want to kill him, because think Nixon is coming apart . He says that aliens want him in the White House because they wanted him to be the "ringleader" when the "circus tent" burn down. Nixon tells Liddy to bug Thor's office in the Watergate, and Liddy says that he won't let Nixon down.
Later, reported Bob Woodward meets Mamie in a parking garage. She says that she knows a lot of things, and Woodward can only know her as "Deep Throat".
The next day, Mamie meets with Thor and tells her what she did. She figures that nobody will associate the porn movie "Deep Throat" with her, and that's why she's using the name. Mamie is unhappy that no one has mentioned Evacuation Day, and then tells Thor that Woodward has believed everything she's told him, that the Watergate burglars were after the Democrats rather than Thor. Thor thanks her, and says that it's more effective to force Nixon to resign rather than killing him. If Nixon talks about the aliens, they'll remind him who is in charge.
In the Oval Office, Nixon is praying for God to destroy his enemies, while Kissinger looks on. Once Nixon Is done, he asks Kissinger what he should do. Kissinger tells him that resigning is the last thing to do, and history will judge Nixon better than his contemporaries. Nixon says that he will have a lot to say about recent history. Kissinger excuses himself to speak to his staff, and tells Nixon that it will be all right.
Once he's alone, Nixon vows that he won't resign. An alien comes in, and gives Nixon of him being anally probed if he resigns.
The next day, Mamie and Thor watch Nixon on the TV. Nixon gives his resignation speech, and they smile in satisfaction. Thor says that he wrote Nixon's speech for him, and Mamie takes his hand and says that it's almost time for her to exit now that she's accomplished more than anyone can appreciate. She tells Thor that she wants a quiet death, and then live forever as Thor promised.
1979
Mamie is driven to Area 51, and listens to a radio broadcast about her faked death. She gets out with Thor, and they go inside. Thor welcomes Mamie to her new home.
Through the years, Mamie walks down the hallways. She greets the test subjects, and Calico admires Mamie's new dress. Calico introduces herself and says that it's an honor to meet Mamie, and she figures they'll be spending a lot of birthdays together so they should be friends. Mamie is glad to, once she confirms that Calico likes fudge.
The Present
Guards secure the cafeteria hall as alarms go off. They check the room and then move on, as Kendall asks them what is happening but gets no answer. The guards check on Mamie and search the place. Security guard tells Mamie that there's been an unauthorized death and leaves.
The guards go to the moon landing stage and find Cal and Troy dead. The baby alien drops down from the rafts and kills one guard, and the aliens shoot the baby dead. Theta and two of her assistants arrive, and Theta is disappointed that they killed the baby, that is a regression in evolution. She has the assistants take the baby's corpse to the lab, while B Team arrives and kills A Team on Theta's orders.
Kendall and Jamie go to their rooms, and hear the announcement that all subjects should return for assessment. When Jamie gets up, Kendall suggests that they shouldn't go and her friend tells her that they have no choice. The two women go to the cafeteria and find Cal and Troy gone. They go to ask Calico, and she says that someone must have tried to escape. She tells them that they're trapped and there's nowhere else.
Jamie suggests that Cal and Troy went to the stage, and the two women go there. They find the corpses of their friends and the guard. Jamie says that there's no hope and then goes into "labor". Theta arrives, overhears Jamie, and tells the women that hope is close. She renders Jamie and Kendall unconscious with a gesture.
The assistants take the two women to the lab, and Kendall tells Jamie to hang on and after they "deliver", they'll get out and tell the world what is happening there. Theta comes and tells them that the specimen before them was the closest they've come to perfection with their experiments. One of them is about to deliver the baby hybrid. Kendall tells Jamie to get it out, and Jamie delivers.
Theta confirms that the baby isn't the one, and a nurse kills it while Jamie looks on. Theta tells the nurse to kill Jamie, and the nurse cuts Jamie's throat. The hybrid tells Kendall that Jamie's child was close, and the time has come for Kendall to give birth. She does so, and Theta tells her that the experiment is finally over and they've done what they set out to do.
Kendall says that it's only a time until the alien get complacent and lazy, and an unimpressed Theta cuts off Kendall head and tells her nurses to preserve Kendall's body because it's a perfect breeding machine. The nurses attach a metal sphere to Kendall's neck stump and the body twitches.
Mamie and Calico celebrate Mamie's birthday, and Mamie says that Calico's her only real friend. Calico points out that they're ageless, and Mamie says that they make new stories. They overhear the nurses talking about the new hybrid, and one nurse says that everything has changed.
Seeking out Thor, Mamie asks him if what she's heard is true. He tells her that the first successful hybrid was born, and now they produce as many as they can as quickly as possible, and they will breed the "breeder" to create hybrids to populate the Earth and replace all the humans. Mamie is shocked at the news, and Thor tells her that they're firing the humans because they've ruined the Earth. Thor assures Mamie that she and a few selective others will be preserved, and tells her that she mustn't think of herself as a traitor.
Mamie tells Thor that Ike was right about the aliens and they can't be trusted. As she walks off. Thor tells her that even if she had believed Ike, nothing would have changed. Mamie turns and tells Thor that Ike said there was another race, like reptiles. Thor knows about them already, and Mamie asks Thor if he's going to destroy. He says that they will share Earth with the other race, because they have qualities and technology that Thor's race admires.
Mamie goes to the lab and two guards block her entrance. She says that thanks to Ike, who signed the treaty, the aliens' plan is successful. The guards barely know who Ike is, but Theta arrives and says that she admired Ike very much. Theta introduces herself, and Mamie says that she wants to see what they've accomplished and it's only right because she's the wife of the man who made everything possible.
Theta leads Mamie in, and Mamie is stricken by the baby's beauty. Mamie insists that humans aren't machines to be run by others, and tells Theta that Ike didn't want humanity to be destroyed. Theta doesn't know about the destruction of the human race, and Mamie tells Theta what Thor told her.
Later, Mamie meets Calico in the cafeteria and tells her friend that the aliens are going to kill everyone but her. She tells Calico that she wouldn't believe what the aliens did to Kendall, and suggests that they fight back. Calico warns her that they're out numbered, but Mamie says that all they have to do is destroy the baby and Kendall's body. The aliens will have to start over, and hopefully humanity will wake up during that time and realize the danger it's in.
Calico warns the aliens will never let them near mother and child. Mamie tells her that they can if they have someone on the inside to help them. They go to Theta, who lets them into the lab. Theta says that they've accelerated the process of breeding, and says that aliens will kill them all afterward. Mamie insists that it's worth the sacrifice, and she's Mamie Eisenhower so she gets to decide what's right.
Mamie picks up a scalpel and goes to the baby's incubator. Theta paralyzes her with a gesture and says that she's seen the horror humanity has wrought. The hybrid says that her humanity is her greatest shame, and she won't help humans who have destroyed the planet and its natural resources. Theta says that the aliens couldn't exist side-by-side with humans because humans would never stand for it..
Theta takes the scalpel from Mamie's hand, and says that it's the aliens' turn now and they will create a new world. Mamie begs Calico for help, and Theta tells Calico that the babies need a woman to nurture them. Calico tells Mamie that Theta is right and it's time that humanity give someone else a chance. Theta explodes Mamie's head, then tells Calico that she'll assist Theta with another birth.
The Kendall machine gives birth to another perfect specimen, and Calico cradles it in her arms.
