The character "Lissie Poole" is loosely based on (and played by) the real artist "Lissie". Her actual music ("When I'm alone") is in the show but is attributed as her fictional band "Pool". In real life, Lissie is an accomplished artist who has released several albums and is featured on other artist's albums such as Morgan Page's "The Longest Road". Her actual name is not "Poole" and she isn't from Seattle, but she is an excellent musician.
This episode didn't feel like it followed the formula from a lot of the prior episodes at all and that's a great thing. Not that the show isn't great but the change up was a nice change for the characters.
I wasn't sure where the show was going in the prior episode with the continued mentioning of a band that does technically exist but that wasn't their music. The fictional band makes much more sense now and for a good reason.
Not only was this a funny episode but it brought Lissie into my awareness and now I'm listening to all of her music on Spotify. Great bonus feature for an already enjoyable show.
