Director Murray Grigor made the 1975 film "Raised in Stone", which also featured the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Director Murray Grigor thought the score was so important that in the restored version which premiered at Glasgow Film Festival in 2019 he replaced some of the narration with subtitles so that nothing would be heard over the music.
The film focuses heavily on Mackintosh's great architectural masterpiece, the Glasgow School of Art - ironically, when the restored version premiered at Glasgow Film Festival in 2019 it was screening just a short distance away from the ruins of the school, which had been destroyed by fire the previous year.
