Chips, the War Dog (1989 TV Movie)

A must see, have the kleenex handy
11 April 2002
This movie is very under-rated. A fictional film based on historical events, it shines as a comedy, drama, and tear-jerker. It focuses on one dog during W.W. 2, but speaks volumes of how all the dogs were treated after their service in the war. The dogs were striped of the medals they so richly earned! It doesn't just use German Shepherds either, it uses a variety of breeds, each suited to a unique talent, just like they did in real life.

I would recommend this film to anyone, even those who think they wouldn't like it -- its great and should have been recognized by one of the award groups but it was not (kind of fitting in a way).

Pretty entertaining, for documentary.

First and foremost this is a documentary that tries to show all points of view. Although it does have a tendency to generalize all Amish communities by the one studied. Not only looking at how the Amish have changed their interactions with the English, but also how the English have prospered by peoples fascination with the Amish.

Priest fights the odds to establish a new religious order.

Don Bosco fights the Catholic church, and fights to keep delinquents out of a civil war. In turn he is visited by the Blessed Virgin and founds a new Order of priesthood. It has touches of humor and some very good acting. Though not quite "Bernadette" it is very good.
