Another sequel that should never had been made.
3 April 2002
Please please please tell me what's the point of this movie? Why make a sequel if you aren't going to be original? The plot and the jokes are pretty much recycled from the first movie. The first movie was good, it was a cult classic.

The french translation of the first movie was a masterpiece. I still say that the french translated version of the first is better then the original English version (both are good in their own ways)

Here tho we get a bad attempt from the dubbing company to recapture the magic of the original french translation but all we get is a badly translated movie.

If you want my opinion this movie belongs in the trash can along with other bad sequels.

Ever heard of an English movie who's actually better dubed?
26 December 1999
The original English version of Slap Shot is great. For many it is considered a cult clasic. But everyone who doesn't understand French are missing one of the best Hockey movie of all time. It might be a cult clasic in English but in French it's a masterpiece.

First it's about Hockey and we French Canadians are the bigest Hockey fans in the world. Second, we have shall we say a distinct dialec with our French. While most movies are dubed in France this one was actually dubed in Québec Canada. So you have a Hockey movie that's using our expresions so where can you go wrong?

But still like I said it's still good in English. This is the kind of movie that grows on you. After seeing it once you might hate it and think it's the worst movie ever, but just try to watch it a second time and you might change your mind. This is exactly what happened with Siskel and Ebert. They gave it two thumbs down and a few years ago while on the David Letterman show when asked if they ever changed their minds they both replied that yes they did after seeing Slap Shot a second time they both gave it two very big thumbs up.

So judge by yourself. Go rent Slap Shot or better yet rent it a second time and who knows you might end up loving it after all.

Why make a sequel when you don't want to?
7 July 1999
For years fans of the original Elvis Gratton movie have been demanding a sequel. Both creators of Elvis Gratton (Pierre Falardeau and Julien Poulin) said they would never make one. Fan kept bugging and bugging and to shut them up this is the crap we got. I bet they told themselves "Here's your "crise" the sequel now shut up and deal with the crap you got" and man I bet they are laughing at us now.
