Dead On!
17 October 1999
For anyone who has done any type of play or stage show in their life. You will understand how dead on this movie is. Christopher Guest as the garish Corky St. Clair is brilliant and shows remarkable talent for becoming the character he plays. Parker Posey was also fantastic in this. A must see "I didn't know deer could do this".

A notch above most King films.
17 February 1999
This movie is a notch above most King films.

I own the DVD of this film and I have to say that Director Mark Pavia did an excellent job with this film. Especially with the end. The end is a great tribute to George A. Romero's style but it goes further and becomes creepier than anything I've seen in recent memory. I caught the last fifteen minutes of this film on cable one night and I was hooked. I remember thinking wow what a stylish film what the hell is this? So I researched and found out the title and bought the film.

The film suffers from a lame screenplay and some stiff acting. Miguel Ferrer was excellent, as was Dan Monahan. Michael H. Moss and Julie Entwisle were a bit stiff. All in all this is a good horror movie and the DVD transfer is sharp and the colors are precise. The sound balance is natural, without over-placement of artificial sound effects.

Watch it alone on a stormy night!

The best Zombie movie ever made!
2 February 1999
This is by far the best Zombie movie ever made!

Romero wisely did this in black and white (he almost filmed it in color). The shadows and the texture the black and white brings sets this aside from other zombie movies. It has a low budget feel but has big budget chills. You can't help but be drawn in by this film. Right from the get go with the maniacal score and timely use of sound effects. Check out the scene where Barbara runs from the house and is blinded by the headlights of the truck. There is a great Synth sound that just hangs and reverberates until Ben slams the door and right on cue it stops and brings us into the next transition with ease. Great film with a now timeless topic and many have tried to capture the spirit of this movie!
