a little too much

I checked this DVD out from my local public library thinking it would be a great documentary on the Arctic. Well, there are some great images, but the overall production/direction is almost too distracting. Paul McCartney added some music for the score, and much of the time, it distracts the viewer rather than adds to the experience.

And instead of presenting the content and allowing the viewer to draw their own conclusions, in my opinion the film goes too far in trying to emotionally manipulate regarding climate change and its effect on the animals of the Arctic.

Argh...

powerful, moving film

I must say that Saving Private Ryan is one of the most moving and powerful films that I have ever seen. I have always tried to look at WWII veterans with respect; my respect, gratitude, and awe have increased a million-fold with this film.

Everest (1998)

stirring documentary about the experience of climbing Everest

This movie appeared tonight on TNT, and parts of it moved me nearly to tears. There are some majestic shots of Mt. Everest and the Himalayas. Generally, if a movie is an IMAX film I like it, and this one proved no exception. Inspiri
