Enterprise (2001)
Great Star Trek Prequel
Enterprise is the prequel to Star Trek-The Original Series. It tells the story of the first Enterprise starship. After having watched TNG and VOY I found this prequel very interesting. It explains a lot about the relationship between humans and Vulcans and many other species. I liked the fact that they were on a ship of exploration without much to defend themselves with. It made each encounter with hostile species all the more exciting. The Xindi arc that lasted the entire third season was especially well done. Some post comments complaining this series makes mistakes in the Star Trek time line. Unfortunately such mistakes has been made in other Star Trek shows as well. And as much as I'd like the time line to be consistent these errors did not lower my enjoyment of the series. Others post comments that they do not like the idea of a prequel, and that they would have liked a Star Trek set further into the future instead. I think it would have been hard to come up with more original ideas for such a show. I am afraid a series set further into the future would have been very similar to VOY and TNG, only with more advanced technology to solve any problem in a very short time. Does not sound very exciting. Maybe I'm being pessimistic... Anyway I think they made an excellent choice when they decided to make Enterprise a prequel (10/10).
The Pink Panther 2 (2009)
I liked it
Many critics dislike this movie. Reading their comments I still do not understand why. The movie has many funny moments. The audience I watched this movie with seemed to like it.
I wonder what people expect from a silly movie about a bumbling policeman getting into embarrassing situations. The most usual comment from critics is that Peter Sellers was a much better Clouseau. I am a big fan of the original movies. What Peter Sellers had that Steve Martin is lacking is the arrogance. I am talking about the arrogance Peter Sellers' Clouseau displayed when had just made a fool of himself. Nevertheless, I think Steve Martin made a good Clouseau. I would definitely recommend this movie. Relax and enjoy.
The Pink Panther (2006)
A very good addition to the Pink Panther series
I do not usually write comments to movies, but feel that I should comment on this one. So many people were negative to this movie before it was released because they could not see how anyone could replace Peter Sellers. I grew up watching the original Pink Panther movies and loved them. Nevertheless, I find this prequel with Steve Martin to be just as good as the movies with Peter Sellers. It has the spirit of the original PP movies. Of course Peter Sellers was great, but so is Steve Martin. I feel that this movie has a faster pace than the previous PP movies, and that there are more scenes with Clouseau. I haven't timed it, but its a general feeling. Enjoy it ! 8 out of 10
Doctor Detroit (1983)
Dr Detroit = Police Academy 7
This movie is so bad, it can only be compared to the all-time worst "comedy": Police Academy 7. No laughs throughout the movie. Do something worthwhile, anything really. Just don't waste your time on this garbage.
The Gift (2000)
Thoroughly predictable
A great Cate Blanchett in a thoroughly predictible movie. The characters apart from Cate are oh so stereotypical. And the plot is like a million other thrillers. The subplot involving Buddy Cole is just annoying, and predictable. If you want to see good acting by Cate then by all means see it, otherwise save your money.
Get Ready to Be Boyzvoiced (2000)
Excellent
A very funny movie. Ranks just below Spinal Tap. A lot of comedies have tried to make mockumentaries. However, none have made me laugh, with the exception of the two abovementioned movies. There are however some missed opportunities in this movies. It could have been even better. The scary thing, is that this movie is so close to the truth about these boy-bands.

The 6th Day (2000)
Totally missed the point
This movie, had an excellent idea. Cloning of humans.
That's the reason I wanted to see this one. But I soon found out that even the best ideas can be made into a boring movie. This is the prime example. The ones to blame are the director and manuscript. As someone else commented "the story is too transparent". When you spend this much money on a movie, one could expect a better manuscript. I cannot understand why Hollywood, time and time again makes this mistake. They throw money after the stars and the set decorators, but do not at all care about the script.
Do those executives think we are stupid ? Yes they do. They think that having a great star is an insurance for a box office hit. Even though they know this is not true (e.g. last action hero). But the director, who has creative control, could at least have made sure the action sequences were made exciting. I almost fell asleep during the first car chase. This has never happened to me before.
To sum it up : 3 out of 10
Hasards ou coïncidences (1998)
Boring
A film about a woman losing her son and her boyfriend. OK. I don't mind a little sentimentality and art-movies. I also like good drama movies f.ex. Midnight cowboy, The last picture show and Peggy Sue got married. This film, however, centers around a woman feeling very for herself. And that is definitaly not entertaining on ANY level. It is just plain boring. 1 out of 10.
Body Heat (1981)
An all time great !!!!!!!
I can hardly think of a better movie than this one. It has been a favourite of mine since I first saw it in 1988. This movie is HOT, in more than one sense. What I love most about apart from the intriguing story about a love-affair bound for murder, is the filming. Every single picture on-screen is so beautiful. I also love how the director manages to show a very hot summer somewhere in Florida.
