Before Sunrise (1995)
I barely survived.
This is singularly the worst movie I have ever seen. With a complete lack in plot, the only redeeming facet is a shining moment of honesty on the train in which they blatantly tell you that this will be a horrible film. I managed to survive the full length on only the dire hope that SOMETHING would eventually happen. I was disappointed. If you are considering renting, I suggest you go for ice cream instead.
The Blood of Heroes (1989)
Best of the best.
Rutger Hauer's finest performance. This movie paints a beautiful and intense post-apocalyptic future full of hope and despair. It is hard not to identify with at least one of the Juggers in their struggle toward respect and royalty.
Dogs in Space (1986)
Layer after layer of amazement.
This is one of my absolute favorite movies. It has an incomparable depth, and each layer of dialogue is intense and perfect in its own right. It is perhaps one of the most "real" movies I have seen.
Blade Runner (1982)
In the beginning, there was Cyberpunk.
The best of its genre, and perhaps of the last 20 years. It is the Star Wars of Cyberpunk - 10 years ahead of its time and an influence on every movie since. It was this movie that brought this genre to the mainstream.
