Kinda Fun, but no real substance
24 January 2000
When I watched FDTD, I didn't have any major expectations, and so I wasn't disappointed with the result. It took me a bit to get a hold of the sudden plot shift. For the most part there wasn't really anything that stuck with me, except for George Clooney's tattoo and the final shot of the movie. OTOH, this is a movie that I would certainly watch again. Partly because I like Juliette Lewis (maybe that will give you a reference point on which to compare my opinion), but also because it's a good ride while it lasts.

Don't go looking for deep meaning where there isn't one, you'll only come out feeling cheated.

Oh, and BTW, this movie really isn't for the weak of stomach.

I give it 65%.

Certainly no comedy masterpiece, but fun nonetheless

Gosh, I seem to be one of the few people who enjoyed this movie. It certainly wasn't up to the standards of Eric Idle's and John Cleese's other movies, but it still far surpassed many other comedies available (IMHO anyways).

Some parts of this movie had me in stitches. John Cleese right at the end standing on the car for instance.

I'd say this movie isn't the best in the world, but It's still good. 7 out of 10.

What were you expecting?
23 August 1999
I went into this movie expecting extremely little. Kurt Russell has played some good roles, but I was expecting something along the lines of Escape from New York or LA. I was pleasantly surprised, but only because i was expecting the gutter (and I got the sidewalk). The friend who I was watching this with pointed out many connections between this movie and Bladerunner; Even so, this movie couldn't hold a candle up to the likes of Bladerunner.

I personally enjoyed this movie, despite the fact that there are better movies out there.

Far too many people missed the point of this movie

I've heard it again and again and again: Natural born killers is too violent. I don't know if anybody noticed, but you can't really make a statement against something without making a statement about it. When you find an anti-war movie that's about peace, let me know, because I'd love to see somebody pull that off. Yes, this movie is violent. Of course it's violent, that's what its about, the natural violence that seems to be inherent in society. I thought this movie was excellent. The soundtrack was amazing, and the editing was awesome. If you're old enough to be alive, then you should see this movie.

I really, Really enjoyed this movie

I found TPM to be quite satisfying considering the hype and the fact that it was written backwards (not entirely, but fleshed out after the movies that it proceeds). In fact, I only had 2 major complaints about the movie. One was Jar Jar Binx, and that's just my personal opinion. The other was the blatant attempt at making the war scenes less violent by using Droids. You can make any number of arguments about how that is a more intelligent and peaceful form of war (as if there was such a thing), but if that's the case, why did the empire use real people for storm troopers many years in the future?

We are currently conducting a long term experiment with somebody who will be watching the movies _in order_, to see if they make sense. (Any person who's watched Episodes IV, V, and VI knows who the dark shadow in the cloak is, and the fate of Anakin Skywalker.) All in all, I thought this was a very good movie.
