Rallarsving (2005– )

Entertaining

Being interested in Martial arts, I have found this show to be very entertaining, although a bit gay (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Its premise is very similar to that of the show "Go Warrior" on discovery, where a guy travels the world and tries out different styles of martial arts and meets martial arts legends. Rallarsving differs in the aspect that there are 2 guys traveling the world in the show instead of one. Also, there are some regular spots on the show, like the "brottogram", where one of the 2 guys in the show is delivered, in a similar way to flowers being delivered, to some poor unexpecting person and then wrestles him/her.

Generally, there is a lot more humor in this show than in "Go Warrior", and the two hosts complement each other well. They also wrestle a lot and give each other wedgies all the time (hence the gayness). All in all, a very entertaining program that differs a lot from show to show yet has the same fun feel every time.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Can't say I liked it

Although, as most people have said, I think episode II was better than episode I, the movie was still rather disappointing.

First of all, I can't understand why people are praising the special FX. CGI just don't look real to me. Especially the computer generated creatures look weird, technology today just isn't good enough for this exaggerated use of CGI. To me, the special FX of the old star wars movies look better than the new movies. Stop motion rules. I'd even take ranchor over the ugly execution-monsters. I can't for the life of me understand why they have useD CGI for almost everything. Even when there is just one clone talking to Amidala, he is computer generated. To me, the second half of the movie felt more like an extremely long playstation cut-scene, than a star wars movie.

Also, C-3PO was a great disappointment, since he did nothing more than say stupid comments, that weren't remotely funny. He was almost as bad a comic relief as Jar-Jar was in the Phantom Menace. Old 3PO was funnier in the old days.

Yoda reminded me more of a bouncing ball than of a Jedi Master.

I liked the other Jedis though, and the lightsaber duels are pretty much the only things I like better with the new movies than the old.

All in all, I think the movie was more or less ruined by its special effects.

The Shaolin Temple (1982)

Kung Fu

If you want to see a non-stop action Kung Fu flic, this movie will be a good choice. More fighting than talking, and good fighting at that. The actors were taken from the chinese national wushu team, and these guys coordinated the fighting scenes themselves without a stunt coordinator. Many styles and weapons are used, such as drunken staff, mantis boxing, and such. The shaolin monks in the film don't seem to take their rules very seriously... they eat meat(dog meat!), drink wine and kill people...The movie was shot on location at the shaolin temple. Shaolin Temple was such a huge hit in Asia, that it made hundreds of chinese children go to the temple in hope of learning shaolin Kung Fu. Also Jet Li's first movie.

Martial Arts of Shaolin (1986)

Non-stop action

This film is packed with fighting from beginning to end. Jet Li is as always very impressive and so are all the other actors (in their fighting, that is). The acting isn't very good, though(not that i know any Chinese). The actors sound like babies shouting to each other and the evil guy's laugh is unbeatable. I like the Amiga-sounding sound effects, though, and the theme song just sticks to you're brain like glue on paper. There is also some nice scenery. I love this movie.

Ironheart (1992)

Well.... At least Bolo is in it

Me and a couple of friends went to rent some movies one day, we picked one each and one of us picked Ironheart. Lets just say that from now on, we never let him pick a movie. This movie sucks
