The Opportunists (1999)
A very down-to-earth movie
This is probably the most down-to-earth movie I have ever seen. There´s is absolutely nothing that happened in this movie that couldn´t have happened to you or me. Yet, still the film has a solid and interesting dialog, also very down-to-earth.
It took a while to swallow the feeling I got just after the movie. My first thought was: "Oh no, what a week story and what a boring dialog". But after a while I thought the exact opposite. This movie was definitely better than what I first realized.
6+ out of 10, is my rating.
Mission to Mars (2000)
I have always wanted to try non-gravity tango!
An astronaut team is about to be sent out to Mars to explore, when something unexpected happens... A rescue team is being sent out to look for any survivors... It´s not a very exciting film or anything extraordinary about it but I liked the effects and the story even though the acting performance where not to good, Tim Robbins were much better in Arlington Road. Gary Sinise though as you saw in Apollo 13 is always a pretty high-performing actor, he was good.
In the end you get a fresh theory on how we humans were "born". Do I believe the theory? No! But it´s a whole lot better then the one I read in the bible.
I think this movie is definitely worth to rent.
