Lost in Africa (1994)
Beautiful !
Worth seeing for beautiful landscapes and animal life, and most of all for delightful Jennifer McComb ! Sure, the scenario is thin, the story next to inexistent, the acting naive, but beautiful scenery and Jennifer McComb as the epitome of feminity in Edenic African paradise are pure delight.
L'histoire très bonne et très joyeuse de Colinot Trousse-Chemise (1973)
Delightful French comedy
This is quite simply a delightful comedy about the love adventures of a young French man. It is "naughty" without ever being vulgar and a refreshing change from the crudeness and the violence seen in many films today. It is even better if you can understand its original language (French) for it is full of quaint and transparent allusions.
Payback (1999)
Thoroughly enjoyable violence by "straight" bad guy
Even for someone who does not particularly like violence this film is thoroughly enjoyable for it sets a justice-seeking "bad guy" (who was double-crossed by wife and best friend) against the arrogant bosses of "The Outfit". The plot is full of surprises, some painful ones, and some rather... rewarding. Nice "bad guy" Mel Gibson is quite likeable and hooker girls friend Maria Bello displays redeeming softness.

Red Corner (1997)
Watchable (6/10)
I would agree with the general consensus that this film is predictable and full of cliches and Gere's performance is hardly credible, but the Chinese actors are quite convincing, the plot is remarkably complex, and the implacable web of intrigue around the lead characters seems real enough. All and all, enjoyable (6/10).
Hush (1998)
Forget every negative critic and you might just enjoy it !!!
I don't know about spoilers but all those cynical negative comments might spoil my pleasure if I was easily influenced or if I let them, so my simple advice to any film lover is : just watch it and you might just enjoy it. I certainly did. I do not wish to say anything about the plot, the characters and the acting and filming qualities except this: Jessica Lange is great as the seemingly sweet and soft mother, Gwynneth Paltrow is thoroughly convincing as the frail bride and mother to be, Jonathan Schaech is at least adequate, the plot is haunting, so yes, I repeat, just watch it and enjoy it !!! One of the most gripping movies I have ever seen. (Manlyn, a viewer in Switzerland)
