The X Files: Blood (1994)
One of the creepiest episodes
This aired on Danish TV late last night, and for the first time that I remember of my adult life, I was filled with anxiety, by the time I turned off the TV.
The citizens of a small town are exposed to some kind of chemical, that originally was meant to relieve the towns corn fields from an annoying bug. The side effect of the chemical though sends some of the people into paranoid rage attacks, that are consistently triggered by any kind of digital device, they lay their eyes on.
Blood is incredibly effective and simple, and the episode is blessed with the guest performance of William Sanderson, who is excellent as always in the role of the unstable loser Edward - the one citizen who is almost able to fight the demonic digital manipulation. Almost.
Det parallelle lig (1982)
A nerve-bending murder twist
Allan Berg is sleeping with his new wife's daughter. The daughter threatens to tell the mother, so he kills her. Hans Thomsen, who works in a mortuary, figures the motive out - as he is examining the daughters corpse for possible jewelery or other values he can steel. He starts to blackmail Allan Berg. But Berg is determined to hold on to his rich wife and therefore a deadly game of mouse and cat sets off. A great thrill and a very exciting and realistic plot with the good old message, that greed never leads to anything good.
Planet of the Apes (2001)
Disappointed
I had high expectations for this film. Man, was I disappointed. I don't want to spoil the ending, but the original film had the best ending I've ever seen. When Tim Burton was the director, I was sure he would find something just as good or even better. He didn't.
The film is one long fightscene and the actors smell bad. It isn't very realistic either. Especially when you find out that the apes learned english from Americans. I mean, if that's how they learned it, how can Helena B. Carter speak with british accent all way through?
It appears that the actors must've chosen this script because it was a remake of a classic film-history film. And because of the directors name. Tim Roth is wasting his talent. Why won't anybody give him a charater as a major bad guy in a human-film? If he hadn't been hiden behind a stupid mask I'm sure he would've stole the picture from a (once again) poor performing Mark Walberg.
If you like lots of action and nothing ells, I'll give this one 9 out of 10.
In my own book it gets 3, from the fact of Charlton Heston being in a cameo!
Mørkeleg (1996)
Stereotype is not always something bad, but this time.. (SPOILERS)
This movie is based upon a novel. It's the other way.
Line is a young girl who is a little bored in the small town. The place to be is at the local pub where all the young people hang out. The movie starts on this pub as one of her girlfriends is murdered. The rest of her friends and herself as well, go to a big empty house to play Backstabbed. A game where you have to "kill" everybody to win. Of course somebody's taking the game all too serious.
Along with this, Line is flirting with her friend Tim. But he is not as nice as he looks.
Surprisingly the script never really tries to hide the killers identity. This is either a poor try to be original or a very bad writer's work.
Good acting by Line Kruse as (Line?? Or was it Tine?), and Christian Grønwall as the deeply insane serial killer.
It's watchable.
Sidste time (1995)
Supernatural or just suspence thriller??
***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS*** This movie is about seven youths who is asked to come to their school - by mail - one day when the rest of the teachers and students have gone home. They don't really know what's gonna happen, but as soon as they're in the biology-room, the door shuts and locks. A television starts playing. At first it's themselves. A picture of them all one by one. And an explanation of why they're there. Sutff like; "Bad communication with teachers", "undone homework", "speaking during a lesson" and so on. The show ends with an assignment: "Murder has been commited at the school. Find the killer(s)." After a while they find out that somebody had pulled the pluck to the TV out. Panic spreds and the discovery of a slaughtered middle-aged man, haning behind a curtain, doesn't make it any better. One of the students wants to escape through the roof, but he slips and falls into the schoolyard. The TV starts and a show called 'Sidste Time' (Final Hour) appears. The show is live from the schoolyard. Then the door to the room is unlocked and two of them goes out to find the TV's crew. But the schoolyard is empty! After that they are all killed one by one. And everytime someone is slashed, you start to wonder who the killer can possibly be. A recommendable horror film.
The Hitcher (1986)
Absolute best of the 80ies
This is another of those "silent killer - 80ies - movies".
But this time... it is scarier, bloodier and darker.
John Ryder does speak, but often he lets his actions talk instead. Perfectly played by all time best psycho Rutger Hauer.
Jim Halsey is the typical brutto-type of a fresh guy.
I don't know why Jenny Leigh was in this movie.
Just watch it! And you'll never eat french fries again...
Italiensk for begyndere (2000)
Funny
Though this is a danish movie I am sure that other people will find it very funny too.
IN HAL-FINN'S RESTAURANT - DAY. Hal-Finn sees a woman take a spoon from her cup and put it on the table.
Hal-Finn: Excuse me, do you also put wet spoons on the table at home, you dirty bitch?
IN HAL-FINNS RESTAURANT - DAY.
Customer: Excuse me, can I have a piece of bread with raisins?
Hal-Finn: Do I look like a guy who makes bread with raisins to a grown up man?
