House on Haunted Hill (1999)
Why remake a classic?
I must say that this movie is rotten to the core. This remake goes right on the shelf with the remake of Psycho, except this is even worse. I don't remember anything from the movie because it was that lame. Vincent Price's version made in 1958 is a heck of a lot scarier than this one. Just because you jump doesn't make it scary, one that hold you in suspense through-out the film is a scary movie. Now, many may like this because it's a modernized version, but still you shouldn't remake a classic.
Murder on the Orient Express (2001)
IT SUCKED!!!
This has got to be the worst Agatha Christie movie made. You never and i say NEVER modernize Agatha Christie. SHe probably rolled in her grave more than once. I was so upset that i didn't even finish the movie, i kept on giving it bad reviews after bad reviews. I had to laugh at all the dialogue because it was terrible. Hercule Poirot never used a computer in his lifetime, why have one now. The movie has nothing to do with the book, except for some of the characters and the murder. THe book also takes place in the 1920's or 30's. I feel that if you want a good movie watch the 1975 version with albert finney. 0/5
Ein Unbekannter rechnet ab (1974)
A very good film
I don't understand some people, they think just because the film is a sequal it will be bad. Most everyone hates this version but i enjoyed it better than the original. Technically if you want the best version get the 1966 version with Hugh O'Brian. Actually none of the versions follow the story correctly. Everyone is suppose to be murdered. I've read the book. But this version, although not very strong is very entertaining, the murders are more explicit, and many of the actors are very good. Elke Sommer, Oliver Reed, Richard Auttenbourgh, Herbert Lom, Maria Rohm and many others. Don't be confused by the people who say this movie sucks, it's a good film.
Ten Little Indians (1989)
Not that Bad
I have to disagree with some of the comments made about this movie. It wasn't that bad, garrunteed it wasn't the greatest, but it still was good. The best version is the 1966 version with Hugh O Brian and Shirley Eaton. Just because the setting is changed people think it was a bad version. Each of the 5 version of Ten Little Indians has their strong points. I say go out and rent this one. It has some scary moments in it.
Miss Marple: Nemesis (1987)
Excellent
This brilliantly done Agatha Christie is by far the best Miss Marple movie. I enjoyed it better than the Book, at least the movie was easier to understand than the book. Joan Hickson is excellent, the only Miss Marple. Very strong performances by Peter Tilbury, Margaret Tyzack, Helen Cherry, and John Horsley. This is an excellent video, no Agatha Christie fan should miss this.
Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)
I've seen Worse!
All i can say about this movie is that it isn't bad. Its not great, but not bad. I know that this movie wasn't as good as the first one but most sequels aren't. I just watched the movie the other day, i was curious about all the bad comments i heard about it. To my surprise i liked the movie. I agree that some of the parts should have been cut out, like all the business in africa and the grasshoppers, that kind of confused me. There are terrific performances by Linda Blair, Richard Burtan and many others. I enjoyed it. ***/*****
