I expect one thing out of a horror movie. I expect it to scare me. Whether it makes me jump and scream and scare my poor cat or it just makes me afraid to go to bed in my basement at night I am happy. If a horror movie does one of both of these things it was worth watching. This movie succeeded in at in at least one count so I give it a thumbs up. Yes, I would watch it again and probably will. I also liked Cloverfield and all 3 of the Paranormal Activity movies. I did like The Last Exorcism better than this one I think, but if you have seen that already then this is similar, and worth watching. It is the same style as all these movies. If you have a problem with the jerky motion in these kinds of films then don't watch them. Chronicle is the same way so avoid it too. If you don't like being scared or creeped out, DON'T WATCH HORROR MOVIES! If you are all about plot and character development again wrong genre for you. Horror movies are meant to horrify and this does it.

Shocker ending!

I am a horror film addict and one thing I love is an ending I don't see coming. I was a bit bored through most of the movie thinking I had the twist figured out and I almost did, but it was a twist upon a twist, upon a twist and it turned out to be a very impressive shocker ending! Unfortunately as with the greatest shocker ending movies of all times, "The Sixth Sense", you can only watch it once. I don't buy these movies and don't watch them a second time unless I can watch them with someone who has never seen it before. If you can do this, watching someone else watch it for the first time is almost better than watching it yourself for the first time!

This is about a primitive family of people that are cannibals and live like cavemen. It could have been a real steaming pile and that is what I expected, but it was really good! There is LOTS OF GORE so it that isn't what your in the mood for, then pass on this one. I was really impressed with the special effects and they had a great cast! These people actually knew how to act which is rare in horror films. The hero in this story is actually a young, preadolescent boy. The antagonist lead is played by a woman. Those 2 things alone make this unique enough to kept me interested throughout the film. I also love that they weren't afraid to make the children killers or to kill them. As a horror movie it DEFINITELY deserves better than a 5. I have seen some real crap in the horror genre that was rated a 5. I wish that people that don't like the genre at all would just QUIT VOTING!! It isn't fair to true fans.

Horror worth watching

There is so very little horror out there that is even acceptable, but this one is definitely above average. I watch these movies for the adrenaline rush and this one delivers although not near as much as "Storm Warning" which I watched yesterday. Also, for the most part the acting is good and although special effects aren't the best I have seen much, much worse in some very good films.
I think there are too many people who vote on these films that don't even like the genre. If you don't like Sci-Fi/Horror then why watch it. If you do like them then watch this one on a rainy afternoon with someone squeamish. Half the fun of watching some of these movies is to see the other persons reaction anyway. :)
Five men abducted by aliens and only 4 survive. Years later 3 are still trying to find these aliens again to get retribution. One man has tried to move on with his life. One night the 3 finally capture an alien and take him back to the fourth survivors house. He wants no part of it. He had been kept the longest than the rest and has some secrets of his own.
This might have been better as a horror/comedy because it does come very close without ever crossing that line. There is some gore although mild to moderate for those of us who have seen the "Saw" films. It isn't dark in mood or theme and doesn't have a message so I would consider it light entertainment for lovers of the horror genre.

I feel as though I know these people and have known people similar to them. These days, though, people are discouraged from showing such passion about anything especially love and loneliness. It has a slow beginning, but then look out! If you love romantic comedies, but would like to see one that had some basis in reality for a change {or at least did have back in the 70's}, then you should see this movie!
