An experience
17 May 2009
Llinas brings us into a literary/film experience setting new rules in Argentinian or even universal cinema. A bagful of stories organized inside three main ones, structured in 18 chapters, takes us into a voyage of 4 hours, transforming us in an extra character. The duration of the film is as important as the music, photography, edition, acting...it is not a mere consequence of the length of events narrated, is a tool he masters in order to make us feel that we participate in this ¨experience¨ as main characters. I felt all the way that this could have been a beautiful book to read, but he took it even farther, not only reading this book to us but reinforcing it with beautiful filming. Llinas loves literature,he loves filming and he wont stop at nothing. Low budget is not an obstacle but an opportunity to make this voyage a bigger one. Please make the time, and don't miss the chance of making this experience your own.

another Argentina
27 September 2004
Sorin has managed to show an Argentina which not many Argentinians are used to see in film. With "El perro" and "Historias minimas" he surprises the audience with the complete absence of surprises. The beautifully portrayed characters in this movie are so simple that you cannot feel nothing but thankful for being able to share a part of their life. This could be seen as another of the stories Sorin showed us in "historias mínimas", but this one is maybe even more simple and it is that simplicity which makes this movie so great. It is also a great lesson for us Argentinias that are always waiting for someone who will take advantage of the main character........that is the biggest surprise this film has waiting for us.

a pleasant surprise

I'm from Argentina, where this movie is from and I must say that I trully hate argentine movies... But this one is different I was surprised by the simplicity of this movie. It is usual in argentine movies to try to force a message, to try to "say" something mostly copying ideas from big classics.. "nueve reinas" is not the case. It's refreshing to see Buenos Aires as it really is, far away from that "tango-like" image every argentine filmaker try to show to the rest of the world. We can see real people doing the thing that are really done in Argentina...This is not an excelent movie but it shows that we are in the right way... (i'm sorry for my english)
