Det sjunde inseglet (1957)
Best movie ever made.
There are human works that save on itself so much wisdom that they never lost their beauty. When a master like Ingmar is capable to translate an eternal valor on its full strength ,like on this movie, we have to watch it very carefully. This is the best movie ever. It's like a work of picasso, van gogh, it's just unique ,it's just perfect. All the symbols that are shown to us are expression of human feeling on its greatest and purest form. If we can still be playing this life game ,trying to get some meaning for our existence, we can cry on this movie. Ingmar shows us one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in arts, the full expression of feelings, and he shows us we can't try to find something we think will bring the meaning of our lives, who feel this meaning will feel it forever , who don't feel it , just can't feel it, and will be despaired by encountering death and will be despaired by encountering life too. We can't pretend we're happy, if we're happy, we're just happy and nothing more, there's no explanation for this, except one: Life is in the little things of our day by day...! Right Jof?
Passage à l'acte (1996)
One of the best films about psychoanalysis
When we talk about what we expect from a film the answer quickly comes to our mind : We want entertainment , culture...etc.. That's one of these films.... Where is the culture on this one? Well I'd say that this is the best film I've ever seen on psychoanalysis... it describes the ways of transference... the false love....all the projections...identifications...and shows how a man can get confused by a treatment...how can a psychiatrist change the life of a sick man.....and how a sick man can change the life of a doctor.. SPOILER ALERT The film describes how dangerous is the use of psychoanalysis cause its dynamics and the love that is produced on the treatment can get a person killed... That's the way this movie works... the sick man in love for the doctor (who is sick too!) does everything to get his attention...and the doctor afraid of him ends by killing the sick man and taking his place to pretend that he's not dead! great movie!
Vargtimmen (1968)
this is THE movie!
I have nothing to say about Ingmar....he's a master... But in this one...he's just amazing! I've never seen a movie with such a rich content of dreams and fantasies. Ingmar shows us how our dreams and fantasies are the great expression of a man's personality and of an artist's life. The artist on the movie lived by the rules of his fantasies and dreams and became to avoid any kind of real contact mainly with his wife... We can say that his wife is just an image of a woman he loved in the past... This is a masterpiece about pain ,dreams and fantasies! a must! You got to see this one!
