24: Conspiracy (2005)
Extreme Outrage!!!
How dare this is called a "spin-off"? These are essentially 24 one-minute mobi-episodes that have appeared on cell phones as a promotional tool for season four. The events take place at a CTU in Washington D.C. Great idea and premise for a TRUE spin-off series, however not on a cell phone. These shows can only be found on the seventh disc of the fourth season box set of "24".
Doing it as a one-minute segment loses its flavor and edge. The characters are one- dimensional, the storyline is if somebody essentially "remade" the first season and it looks like a college-student film: the budget is around the vicinity of $25-100. This is a 24 mobi- epiisode show on cell phone, so I hope this doesn't come back for a second mobiseason.
These Hands (1993)
Boring, but an interesting insight into Third World labor
Review: "These Hands"
The message is clear, but it is overly long and boring (Not to mention tiresome). Nothing but 55 minutes of actual footage of African women mining stones, trying to scrape by with enough money to feed their kids and put a roof over their heads; it takes a while for the message to become clear. This is however, a good ethnographic documentary film, but only limit it to classroom viewing, nothing to own on video/DVD or anything like that.
Waterproof (2000)
Waterproof
Picked up for distribution in 2001, "Waterproof" is Cloud Ten Pictures' finest achievement in its library. It should have garnered a limited, or even a platform, release because of superb acting by all, the finest elements of cinematography I have ever seen, great direction my Barry Berman, and a move shot in the real location of Waterproof, Louisiana. Along with a gospel message, fine score, and beautiful songs of Southern Gospel, "Waterproof" is a movie experience that will be greatly received by all who see it. **** out of **** (Even this is far better than Cloud Ten's "Left Behind" series)
His Trust Fulfilled (1911)
"His Trust II: The Fulfillment", and this short movie does fulfill.
Wonderful sequel is better than the original. Continuing where the first movie left half (it's regarded as both a sequel and the second half of the story), George takes care of the daughter after her mother suffers a heart attack. Acting is not on calibur par, but it still succeeds.
His Trust: The Faithful Devotion and Self-Sacrifice of an Old Negro Servant (1911)
Very Good Short Film by D.W. Griffith
D.W. Griffith's 1911 film "His Trust" is about colored servant George who takes care of the wife and child after the husband died in battle. Good films. Better than average on most levels, although the black face makeup remained the prime focus of the civil war film. Followed by sequel released a week after this film during its initial run in theaters.
Thumbtanic (2000)
A well-done thumb movie
Steve Oedekerk, the man behind the two `Ace Ventura' movies, `Patch Adams', and `Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius', is pleased to present a Cliff Notes version of `Titanic'...all acted by thumbs. It's actually called `Thumbtanic' and it's pretty bizzarre....and humorous. After finding a pictures of a naked woman at the bottom of the ocean (and not wearing any clothes too), the local news station interviews a very old woman by the name of Germanium, who remembers the ill-fated voyage of `Thumbtanic', which was a ship that was very big but poorly steered. Once onboard, Germanium falls in love with Jack. I'll stop right here, I don't want to go any further, except by commenting my thought and opinions of it. I thought this was actually a very clever sendoff of one of the most beloved films of all time, with a lot of jokes made not only about tee movie, but made a lot of other references (mostly sexual). There is one scene however that cracks me up in the movie, and that is when he...uh, I forgot what I was going to say. Oh, except the movie's done in flashback sequence in 1912 when old people were really young, and not very tired as old people are now. What didn't work, though, was that annoying song `My Heart Is A Thumb'. Celine Dion impersonator: not impressed, although many of the great human impersonators who have a hairball stuck in their throats are better. Hey, this is why we love Weird Al Yankovic so much. Not an outstanding comic masterpiece, but funny, funny, funny. We have `The
Naked Gun', `Airplane!', and `The Blues Brothers' among us as the real comedy classics.

The Making of 'Left Behind II: Tribulation Force' (2002)
Wonderful insight into average (but better than the first) film
Cloud Ten has done it again offering us a look inside how the filmmakers made `Left Behind II: Tribulation Force', featured on the DVD version. Watch this after you view the film. If you hated or liked `Left Behind II', you will like this. It is packed with interviews from the cast and crew. The 30-minute behind the
scenes look is hosted by Bob Carlisle, who is a well-known Christian music
artist (Some may call him a one-hit wonder because of his only mainstream
song "Butterfly Kisses"). The thing I found fascinating was when they were
building the sets for the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount that serves as a
climax for the film, even though the downside was that the movie was entirely shot on location in Canada. Watch after the actual movie, you will not be
disappointed.
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)
Third time's a charm, baby!
He's back, baby. It's the shagadelic third installment in the spy series. This time, Austin Powers (Mike Myers) must save the day, again, when his arch-nemesis Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) threatens to flood the earth by using a laser beam to control the earth's satellite. In order to stop him, Austin must travel back to 1975 and rescue his father Nigel Powers (Michael Caine) from Dr. Evil's newest henchman, Goldmember (Mike Myers, again!) and form an alliance with ex-girlfriend Foxxy Cleopatra (Beyoncé Knowles), then travel back to 2002 to stop Goldmember, Dr. Evil, and the rest of his infamous gang of henchmen.
Even though this installment is the funniest of the three (the first 10 to 15 minutes of the movie is a riotous hoot with cameos galore), Goldmember is the weakest link of the series. With his testicles made of gold and having a weird attribute of eating his peeled skin, it almost makes you sick to your stomach in some scenes. The other let down of the movie, Heather Graham had a cameo appearance as Felicity Shagwell and all her scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. Oh, well. The revelation is unexpected (except to those who saw the first two movies), and the ending leaves the door open for a fourth Austin Powers adventure. Funniest moments are the first 15 minutes of the movie, the clever & witty names of female characters (and everybody who thought `Fook Yu' was a bad word will now be grateful to say in front of parents. Don't worry, they won't get it until DVD release), Dr. Evil's version of a Jay-Z rap song, Dr. Evil's new lair, the satellite (which is reminiscent of number two's funniest moments), the battle between Austin and Fat Bastard (Michael Myers from those `Halloween' slasher films), and Fred Savage as The Mole. After the movie, you'll wonder: Which direction will AP4 take if they decide to make it? (Trust me, you'll be asking yourself this mind-boggling question.) Yeah, baby!
Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
Not a bad movie, although not great either. Just in-between
Michael Myers is back, and you thought he was gone for good! In this eighth installment of the famous `Halloween' series, thought to have died three years after Laurie Strode `assumed' that she hacked her brother's head (we learn from flashbacks that she killed an innocent paramedic), Michael Myers returns to where the killings all started---home. Six teenagers have won a contest, sponsored by Dangertainment, where they must spend Halloween night inside the Myers' residence. They are unaware that the ultimate evil lurks in the house. It is wonderful to hear the theme song, or variations of the John Carpenter theme made popular in 1978, and its always a treat to see Jamie Lee Curtis on the big screen, once again playing Laurie Strode, whose role in this is reduced to nothing but a cameo. Better than your usual slasher flick, one might think, but this is not the best movie or worst movie of the year. Ending leaves door wipe open for `Halloween 9: How Long Will Michael Myers Kill These Innocent People Before He Gets Tired And Gives Up, He's Basically In His 40s By Now.'
OK, maybe that's that the APPROPRIATE subtitle. Speaking of subtitles, they should've stuck with `Halloween: Homecoming'. One reason why they got dinged of the three-star category.

Left Behind (2000)
Average Christian film
"Left Behind" is based on the first of a projected by twelve books, and the movie version was an average. All the actors tried their best to make this work. Some elements worked while others failed. Brad Johnson, Kirk Cameron, and Gordon Currie were the only ones who did an average job with their roles, as do all the other actors. Reminder that "Tribulation Force", the second book in the series, is the sequel to this movie, due to be released sometime in 2002. s
Save the Last Dance (2001)
Both the first great date film and the first feel good movie of the new century
This is a really great date film! When I saw the previews for this
movie, I was already anticipating for the release date. I was right and
I was also surprised on how the story developed and became much more
about how one interracial couple triumphs over the hate that the black
community had towards them. Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas were a
great interracial couple. This movie rocks because it can connect with
other people, young or old. I reccomend this movie to anybody who wants
to see a really great chick flick, "Save the Last Dance" is the one to
