The Joe Schmo Show (2003– )
Nicely Done.
10 September 2003
WOW! From someone who really wants "Reality" shows to be taken off the air and all copies of all their tapes be destroyed utterly I really enjoy this show. I usually avoid "Reality" shows like the plague because of the fact that they appear so phony and the people on them really annoying but this one parodies those shows to the "T". Of course they will have to figure out a way to keep future "Joes" in the dark as to the real purpose of the show. After seeing this people will know that the show "Lapp of Luxury" is a fake and is really "The Joe Schmo Shoe". Unless when the producers poll potential candidates they (the applicants) have never seen any reality shows. It's possible but they have probably at least heard of the big ones like "Survivor" and "Big Brother". The producers will also have to keep finding new actors for the other "candidates", which isn't as difficult as finding the "Joes". I think being one of the actors on "The Joe Schmo Show" would be better than being a real contestant on any of those quote "Reality TV" shows.

TV acting Debut of Pat Benatar
24 April 2003
This Afterschool Special marks the TV Acting debut of Rock Singer Pat Benatar (Her actual Acting Debut was a cameo in the film "Union City" Starring Singer/Actress Deborah Harry). Even though the story centers around the daughter who is coping with her parents divorce and their new relationships I watched this show because of being a fan of Pat Benatar's Music. Having seen her in Union City and a few of her music videos I knew her acting was pretty good, she's a singer first actor second but her performance is very good in this.

I recall that the day this Afterschool special was broadcast the remains of the sailors killed in a Gun Turret Explosion aboard the U.S.S. Iowa were returned home and the only TV channel in my area that cut to live footage of the plane unloading the flag covered coffins was the channel that was showing this movie, as a result I missed over half the show. I don't think it has ever been repeated.

Nice Short! Great Message!
24 October 2002
Warning: Spoilers
Late One Night I saw "Late One Night" on the Christian Cable Broadcast Station TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network) and thought that this short was well written. It is available at least on VHS video through a Christian Video Company.

Warning I might be giving some **SPOILERS** in this comment.

It may be brief (Only 30some minutes) but "Late One Night" gets the True Christian message through. In brief at a diner a guy who is a regular of the diner and who recently got rejected from a Christian girl he works with and wants to date gets bitter at all Christians. While talking with his work buddies about how phony Christians are he starts harassing a gentleman at the diner when he finds out he is a Christian and starts asking all sorts of questions and calls the gentleman "Jesus", the gentleman answers the questions politely even though he's being harassed and yelled at. The waitress just stays out of it and the Cook tries to get him to stop the harassment.

***SPOILER**** While leaving the Christian gentleman pays the cook more than enough money for his meal and says something to him. A few minutes later as the harassing guy and his buddies leave and ask the cook what they owe. The cook refuses to take any money from them and says he's not going to take their money because "Jesus" already paid their Bill.
