What We Do in the Shadows: The Trial (2019)
Great Potential
I just have a few words about this episode.
The mindblowing creativity and potential that this show has displayed through each episode and exploded magnificently in the last one. Even without the cameos, the references to the popular (vampire) culture, the attention to detail, the high production and writing (props to Jemaine Clement, he's a genius) makes this show an instant classic.
The Trial marked a new high standard.
Flight of the Conchords: A Texan Odyssey (2006)
Absolutely hilarious!
The sense of humor of Conchords excels in this low budget gem.
It's quirky, uncomfortable, cringeworthy and completely brilliant.
Recommend it to anyone who enjoys the TV series.
An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn (2018)
It's an acquired taste!
Personally, I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone. We're talking about certain sense of humor that isn't fit for everyone. It's uncomfortable and peculiar, but fascinating at the same time.
The acting is over the top and cringeworthy, but hilarious and surprisingly emotive.
I may mention that I had to watch it twice to be able to truly appreciate the message under the surface.
And finally, props to Jemaine Clement, who gave the best performance of the film. Fun, tender and quirky, a memorable character.
Watch it without prejudices, with an open mind and I'm sure you'll enjoy this rare gem.
Flight of the Conchords: Live in London (2018)
An absolute masterpiece!
I've literally just created my account to recommend this gem.
Flight of the Conchords at it's finest. The quality of the show is gorgeous. Many laughs and surprisingly many (unintentional) emotional moments.
Bret Mackenzie and Jemaine Clement deserve all the praise for putting together a wholesome project that haven't decreased in quality over the years, just great as ever.
A must watch nonetheless!
