Sex Files: Erotic Possessions (2000)

One of the best soft-core porn films currently on TV

This soft-core porn flick is one of the best available. Start with the obvious - the woman are luscious. The beautifully endowed Shauna O'Brien is the centerpiece but Amber Newman, Griffin Drew and Morgan Kelly all have lots of camera time, some of it together. Fortunately the whole thing is well filmed so that you can enjoy their activities, even in a couple of scenes where simultaneous sex liaisons are taking place, one in the flesh and one in the fantasy.

And that is what sets this film apart, it actually has both plot and characters. The plot involves a dead actress (Drew) trying to "finish" her final film, albeit in the form and person of a young starlet (O'Brien). This results in mind-control issues of "who has Claire's body today?" Of course, who ever is in control has sex on the mind, just with different purposes.

So who saves Claire from being taken over? Her lovely friends, Newman and Kelly, of course, who not only try to figure out what's happening but also get drawn into it as they are influenced and seduced to have sex themselves in a number of lovely displays.

There's a lot to enjoy visually here and the story and characters manage to be good enough to not get in the way. It's a real pleasure, one of the few films I give the soft-core 5 out of 5.

I have seen this movie twice now and it's like watching two different movies. The first time I saw this title it was merely a strip show. People got naked, began to touch and fade to next scene. Sure, they were very attractive people but there was almost no sex and the little that was shown was brief and unexciting. Which I thought was a shame since the girls were nearly all beautiful and buxom and there was a nice variety.

The second time around made up for my initial disappointment. The sex scenes, it turns out, had been cut from my first viewing. The second time there was plenty of very hot sex with a good variety of positions and views and the effect was good enough to let you overlook the fact that it was all simulated (or was it? It was that well done.)

If you are a soft-porn fan, put this one on the list. The women are excellent, the action is frequent and the plot is silly enough to be amusing and entertaining. As soft-porn, it's a 4 stars (of 5).

Scandal: 15 Minutes of Fame (2001)

Disappointing movie with gorgeous actresses.

When a director sets out to make a soft-core porn flick, which this movie certainly is, there should be a realization that the movie is about showing the assets of the cast. This movie spoils the display of some stunningly beautiful women by trying to be more than a simple enjoyable porn flick. For example, one actress is featured in a bedroom scene with a horribly distracting and inappropriate vocal in the background. Kira Reed's charms are shown mainly in a swimming pool scene where at any given moment only half of her is showing - either above or below the water line. Regina Russell and Kira Reed are both lovely women but they are not effectively shown in any of the scenes.

Shauna O'Brien fares somewhat better. Her remarkable body is displayed fully but the poor camera work and excessive use of close-ups and partial images keeps you from ever getting drawn into her most erotic scenes. Kim Dawson, who has a single scene at the end of the movie, comes off better than any of the leading ladies simply because the camera seems to slow down, draw back and let the audience enjoy watching.

Given what the director had to work with the result is disappointing, but the four ladies are all so sexy themselves that the movie is still worth watching.
