Elvis (2022)
I'm glad I waited until it was out on HBO
I almost spent extra cash on a gold class ticket to go see this movie in a plush theater, but I'm glad I didn't waste my money. I love some of Baz Luhrman's other movies, like Strictly Ballroom is an all time favorite, as is the Great Gatsby, Romeo + Juliet took some getting used to and eventually worked for me. But the "Bazzy style" of directing and editing just did not work for this kind of movie... it didn't work for Elvis. It was so in your face, over dramatic & extravagant that there was no essence to the movie or storyline. Choppy, flashy, too loud with blasts of music, whilst the dialog was too quiet. It hurt to watch, I felt like I was in pain and just trying to make it to the end of the movie. I completely lost interest about a 3rd of the way through and I had to make an extra effort to pay any kind of attention after that. Disappointed to say the least.
Slutever (2018)
About time they had a show like this
Exposing the negative sexual society in America is the first step to sexual freedom without stigma attached to it. Breaking down double standards is essential. Especially for women and for those who have different sexual preferences branching out from mainstream, vanilla and straight sex that's typically focused on the average man. This opens up a world of pleasures for EVERYONE to enjoy, equally and without feeling ashamed about their desires, that might be taboo for the majority. We are all human and we all have wants, needs and fantasies. The options for consenting adults out there to give and receive pleasure through different avenues is endless. And as long as it's not harming anyone, then I don't see what the problem is. This show is for the open minded (my kinda people) NOT for prudes and conservatives. Good job vice and Karley.
