Cryptid (2022)
Don't believe the 7.7 rating.
Even if a brain cell short circuits, that's all you will need to figure out that the ratings were rigged for this movie. As time goes on and people WHO ARE NOT involved in this project (crew, actors, friends and family) watch this movie, the ratings will begin to drop down dramatically and will end up at 5 at best but will dip down to 4.
The creature was OK but the acting was overall pretty bad, some were better than others, though. The pace of the story really dragged and the dialogue was a bit cheesy. The movie could lose about 30 minutes of useless runtime as well.
Looks like a straight to streaming release.
Terror Train 2 (2022)
Decent Sequel 2 Decent Rmake
Not bad but the only thing I couldn't buy was the killer in the sequel. Just too unbelievable for this character and the motive was absurd. I don't want to spoil it but I strongly believe a different killer with a non laughable motive would have made this better. Still believe the first remake was stronger. The sequel just not as good.
The acting is pretty decent. The Magician was a perfect cast for this role. Alana is also pretty good as well as the conductor. The rest of the cast is OK. Cinematographer did a good job as well and I believe the scenes are lit quite well. All in all, entertaining.
Halloween (2018)
Well Done.....
Just saw it last night and this is by far the closest feel to the original Halloween! I thoroughly enjoyed it! Well acted, well shot and well edited! Though it has mostly good reviews, I really cannot understand some of the bad reviews. But I guess with the IQ Level of the vast majority of the population, it should not be surprising. Very powerful killing scenes as well! This is by far better than the sequels, though I liked the original H2. This is a masterpiece compared to the Rob Zombie Halloween movies! This is right up there with the original Halloween! Music score is excellent!
The First Purge (2018)
Entertaining to Say the Least.....
I enjoyed the movie. As far as this being racially charged, I think it does somewhat show and reflect what is going on in America. But this also had blacks killing blacks, which is also a reflection of what is going on in America. My only negative feedback is that I think they made the lead character, Dimitri, a little too invincible which was to me very unrealistic. There was no way he would have survived the confrontation with the soldiers in that building. And, even though Dimitri himself was a drug dealing POS, he was somehow reflected as a hero to his community, which I think was silly. Besides that, The First Purge had great violence, gore, intensity and IMO, solid acting.
Swiss Army Man (2016)
Dumbest Movie I Have Ever Seen..........
I can't even begin to describe how ridiculous and stupid this movie was. I am utterly amazed how this can have a user rating of 7.9 on IMDb. This writer has some serious internal issues to be able to come up with this script. I never write reviews but for this movie I am compelled as a citizen of the United States to do so. My girl and I were just looking at each shaking our heads. This is not a comedy, nor an adventure and definitely not a drama. I can't believe how this got green lit to be made. FYI, if you have a fetish for farting, erections and complete nonsense, then this movie by all means is absolutely for you. The ONLY highlight of this film was the Popcorn and Coke we had.
Toe Tags (2003)
at least film was completed
Hey, the film was shot and edited and it was completed. That's a lot more than probably 90% of the world population could ever do. The filmmakers accomplished more with this film than most ppl do their whole lives. That right there gives it some credit.
I did like the story about a killer taking the toe tags, I just did not like the acting whatsoever. Very amateurish performances from everybody in the cast. There was no realism to the acting at all. That is an honest opinion. The editing was decent and the look of the film was OK for an low budget Indie. Maybe with more money it could have been better.
Suburban Sasquatch (2004)
Way overboard with the FX...
I could not finish watching the entire movie, I got about 3/4's of the way. First of all, the movie is way too long(100 minutes), and the blood effects are just way too fake, I mean I know low budget is low budget, but the killing scenes are just too comical. The ape looks like a retard making comical grunts, and posturing, and the costume is just plain lame. I did love the opening credits, great job there. The acting was very bad, and when the ape lifts the cop car, that was just too ridiculous, it looked so fake, I think this film would have been better if a different approach to the ape was used, and they limited the blood and gore, the movie had potential and that's why I give it a three. Finishing a film is an accomplishment and these film makers did just that.
A Candle in the Dark (2002)
Decent movie...
Pretty decent short film. The technical aspect was not great, some bad sound here and there, but for the budget, it is watchable. Obviously you cannot expect a hit when movies are shot with a low budget and with a skeleton crew(which I'm sure this movie had). The acting was pretty decent overall, and the story was good as well. I liked the Goth(so to speak) girl and the main actress was also pretty good. I did like the end when the guy being interrogated turns out to be a very significant character in the movie(do not wanna spoil it). The movie is about 40 minutes long, so that is a plus because usually movies like this that are too long are hard to watch all the way through.
Rambo (2008)
This is what really happens people.
People are so in denial of what kind of senseless torture and violence goes on in these type of countries. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. I'm just laughing reading the bad reviews where people claim to walk out of the theater because they cannot handle the violence. This is what soldiers see everyday. Things like this happen all the time. Children are murdered, massacred, thrown into the fire, beheaded, you name it, they do it. I applaud Stallone's effort in having the balls to show it how it truly is. What do people think happens in a war zone? There is nothing but mayhem, blood, guts, flesh, and endless violence that is really pointless, but that is just the way it is. Deal with it. I mean, these are grown man walking out of the theater because it is just too much for them to handle? I can understand women and children not wanting to see this, but grown men? Maybe they should just go back to their little "peaches and herb" life and live in denial and avoid the realism of war and the kind of things that go on thousands and thousands of miles away.
