Unsung Hero (2024)
Family perseverance that endures great struggles.
Great movie, production and acting.
Well done Smallbone Family!!!! Beautiful and inspiring!!! Belief in yourself and the guiding principles of kindness, love of family and staying true to your beliefs!
It was such a fantastic movie of Faith, blessings and the struggles of a family that is has been a part of my life for years through music.
Exceptional cinematography, videography, casting, acting - all of it. The events were so relatable, I was completely drawn in. Many tears - it was definitely moving. But not bad tears - tears of relief of miracles happening. Wholesome, faith-encouraging true story of a family.
A mother's deep love and husband and wife that work together. Take your family or at least be inspired to reach out to the people in your life that are your Unsung Heroes!
The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial (2023)
Good, but could have been better
I like military movies and dramas. This has a good update of present day for the US Naval version of a Mutiny with Court Martial. Great acting and story, except it was all courtroom. It could have been better to have scenes at sea when events were occurring to provide the audience with incidents taking place.
Otherwise, it's mainly legal proceedings with courtroom testimonies.
I liked previous movie versions of the story much better which filmed actions at sea and the courtroom. Humphrey Bogart did a superb acting job at sea and on land in the black and white version.
Makes me also think of the great acting and story with "A Few Good Men" which gave context and intensity to the court martial for young Marines with scenes on base in Cuba, in DC residences and in the JAG courtroom. Great performance by Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson. This 2023 Caine Mutiny movie was nowhere close to that level of an overall great film.
Wonka (2023)
Terrific Wonka movie
Excellent movie. Highly recommended. Very creative background for the imaginative beginnings of Willie Wonka.
Timothy Chalamet is superb with his acting and singing. Great story line and writing. Music and choreography is excellent. Great acting overall with some funny scenes and lines. CGI is very good. Hugh Grant is top notch in his surprising roll. Great one liner remarks though out the movie.
The turn of the century type setting mixed with some state of the art technology is splendid.
Nice tributes to the 1971 Willie Wonka classic film that brings back fond memories of songs and music.
Clean and wholesome family movie with acting and scenes.
I plan to see it again.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Great CGI - mixed family story with violence
Excellent cinematography and CGI. Visually stunning throughout even without 3D. Story picks up where first movie and book ended.
Lots of family interaction and new habitats and creatures. Seems to have a target for Youth and adults with Avatar children engaged. The story could be better with a few more sun plots added. Seems to get a little stale and confusing in the middle, but picks up in the end.
But there is a lot of fighting and graphic violence at times which could have been reduced. . Similar to the first Avatar movie. Probably could trim the film back by 15 - 30 minutes without losing content.
Overall it's still a great movie.
I Heard the Bells (2022)
Wonderful Christmas Story
Such a wonderful film and heartfelt story. There are some scenes that might bring tears as well as a smile. Perfect timing for Christmas.
While, I was familiar with much of Henry Longfellow's majestic poetry, I didn't know much about his personal life. Beautifully filmed and acted with sets and costumes that made it feel like the 1860s. Glad that the production depicted the influence of Christianity and faith which had a profound impact upon his life and his family. Highly recommended for family viewing.
My wife and I enjoyed the movie thoroughly. I hope to see this in future Christmas seasons. I look forward to the movie becoming available for DVD and digital purchase and rent in the near future.
Devotion (2022)
A nice salute to Korean War Military Aviators
Devotion is an Excellent film with a respected look at US military aviators from the Korean War- the often overlooked war from the 1950s.
The storyline, acting, cinematography, production and overall film was outstanding. Very dramatic and heartfelt with lots of interest maintained throughout. A well done salute to our American military service members that fought in Korea and have served our country overall along with their families.
As a US Army veteran, I felt that this movie provide honorable respect with regard to military missions where brave men (and women) took great risks and sacrifices in combat.
Highly recommended film.
Family Camp (2022)
Family focused with humor and a positive message
Wonderful movie. It was humorous, heartfelt, family focused and clean. Good acting and storyline. Emphasis on rebuilding family relationships and taking timeout for one another. Christian Faith-based that reflected hope and redemption for all.
The Skit Guys did a great job with this film.
Land (2021)
Great Wilderness Drama
Excellent movie and storyline. Robin Wright does an outstanding job with acting and directing. The character development is well done. Cinematography and scenery is beautiful. Some may find it slow at points or want constant action. This is a good drama story, well written and good acting leaving you to wonder what may happen next or at the end. Great film that I will watch again.
The Call of the Wild (2020)
Nice family movie with adventure
Loved the movie and storyline. Beautiful scenery throughout. HARRISON Ford did a great job. I prefer live animals over CGI. But it was hard to tell a difference for visual and actions. I would definitely see it again.
