Pumpkin (2022)
Short and Sweet Horror Short For All!
What do you do when you stumble upon an unknown object while on the road? Especially, what if it's a pumpkin? This is the cool premise of the horror short named "The Pumpkin" which is just a 3:23 minutes long short film available to watch on YouTube at no cost. Written, directed and edited by Paul Dulski, starring Tristin Notte and Tessa Baker. The music was provided by Karl Casey (White Bat Audio). Tristin is also a co-writer and provided sound effects for the short. Filmed and made in Vermont, USA. Paul has made 3 horror shorts before this- The Passenger, Terror Trail I and Terror Trail II.
The visual effects, quality and the music sets the tone for a creepy short film which is made even better with the voice of Tessa as a caller and acting by Tristin- both of which feel professional and work very well. The ending and the film is effective because it emphasizes the element of the unknown! The film has no mature content but it's still scary. Suitable for all ages and at any time of the year due to the relevance of psychological horror. The performance and editing both have made it a delightful watch.
Overall, Pumpkin by Paul Dulski starring Tristin Notte and Tessa Baker is a short and sweet Halloween treat that's fun to watch during the Halloween season and also throughout the year due to the timeless performance and music! Highly recommended to watch this and get into the Halloween spirit no matter when or where you watch it!!
Terror Trail 2 (2022)
A rollercoaster ride with no dull moments!
The short film is "a rollercoaster ride with no dull moments" because of the editing, story and dialogues. Switching between the search and a flashback about the warnings received by John (Played by Paul Dulski) from a folklorist (Played by me, Darsh Davis) through a video chat. We get to see what's happening with Eric (Played by Jeremy Pratico) and John as they enter the area and also what John remembers about his chat with the Folkorist. The short film is made as if it has been recorded by Eric and John as they document what happens with them so that they can help any future people exploring the area. Thus, it has a "found footage" feel to it with no clumsy movements or awkward angles. Paul and Jeremy have well studied the found footage filming techniques and it shows here. Katie Kenworthy as the creature has nailed the body language and the look is creepy! Considering the limited budget, time and resources, it is excellently made. No mature content but still super scary. Can be watched with kids. Among the most fun and thrilling shorts you will watch! Highly recommended!
Genevieve: Blood & Guts (2021)
A Scary Horror Fight!
Filled with scary visuals of the killer doll and some surprises, this horror short film by NMJ Films will entertain and scare you! Featuring the voice of Alan Maxson as the killer doll Genevieve and Nicholas Michael Jacobs as the lead- Ted Morris, it's a short but effectively scary story of the fight between a man and a possessed doll. Created by a one man team, it deserves appreciation!
Terror Trail (2020)
Perfectly made short film with horror & spreading awareness about the real missing cases!
Terror Trail is based on the real cases of missing people in the allegedly haunted area of "The Bennington Triangle" of Glastenbury Mountain in Vermont state of the USA, and bravely enough, film makers Paul Dulski and Tessa Baker have filmed the short film in the area itself. Thus, we get to see a lush green forest with hikers going up the mountain.
There are no boring introductions or backstories about the characters. However, there's enough personality provided to them thanks to the writing of Tristin Notte as well as Paul Dulski, and the acting skills of everyone that we still feel shocked when we see characters getting killed or dragged somewhere, and thus, going missing.
The short film is of the perfect length at almost 10 minutes with the editing being done so that nothing feels boring. This indeed is an advantage as we see the ending of the short film becoming a reason to look forward to the sequel. The film does a great job of keeping the audience interested and provides a lot of shock horror with suspense without showing any excessive violence, gore, or blood.
The music by White Bat Audio is melodic, and beautifully creepy. Acting by everyone is professional, and feels very natural. Special effects by Tessa Baker, and Katie Kaneworthy is brilliant, realistic, and feels natural. Editing, and filming quality is brilliant.
Overall, filled with suspense horror, beautifully creepy visuals, brilliant acting, and a story that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats makes Terror Trail 1 short film a must watch for any horror fan! It is a professionally made short film which makes you want to know more about the missing cases, and also look forward to the sequel, Terror Trail 2.
Why a perfect rating? It's a short film that was made despite the budget restrictions (Funded with Kickstarter), with crew restrictions (2020 outbreak), with the best quality camera (despite being an indie film), and most importantly, done with all the safety precautions to prevent the spread of the virus (Besides, the safety of the cast and crew in the forest). It's free to watch, and well made with no time wasters. One of the best shorts I have ever seen yet.
The Passenger: A Vermont Urban Legend (2019)
Awesome for first horror film! Makes you interested in the urban legend!
As the name suggests, the film is about the urban legend (local city ghost story) of a lady in white dress appearing on the Marble Street of the West Rutland Marsh area of Vermont State of the USA. Paul and the team, being from the area, knew the legend well. The small details like using the exact locations where the incidents might have occurred, gives the film an authentic feel.
Film is well paced and is fun to watch from the start to the end. the acting, music, make-up of the ghost and dialogues, everything feels like professional quality. Editing and direction is also nice. Film is neither too long nor too short. A must watch for anyone interested in horror tales and especially, if you're from Vermont, USA!!
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
An epic conclusion of 10 years of Marvel Movies Which you shouldn't miss (Spoiler-Free Review)
No spoiler brief review for fans and non fans:-
If you are a Marvel fan, then you know you shouldn't miss this movie so please watch it before anyone spoils it for you. Even if someone does spoil it, the movie is worth watching for its spectacular special effects, music by Alan Silvestri and stellar performances by the cast. The 3D version of the movie is nice as the 3D effect adds additional depth to the fight scenes and space scenes. It's a movie that has so many scenes which feel like they are there to please the fans and the scenes have a lot of emotional impact because of the character development as well as back-story that have built up the emotions throughout the years. This movie is something that should be kept in your DVD or Blu-Ray collections when officially released later on, as there are so many things in this movie which will make you want to revisit it and relive the moments. You will not get bored by this movie and might as well watch it twice or even more times in the theater.
If you are not a Marvel fan or haven't watched any of the Marvel movies, the movie does tell you what happened in the Avengers Infinity War and even if you won't be able to identify with some of the characters, you can guess that Avengers are the good people and they are trying to stop the bad guy, Thanos from conquering the world and also to try and repair what he did in the Infinity War movie. The movie is worth watching for its special effects, acting, music and great production value. Some character decisions might divide the audience, so how you feel will depend on your personal attachment and expectations form a particular super hero character's story arc.
This is the last Russo Bros. Marvel film according to a GamesRadar Interview and the last Stan Lee cameo (RIP). Go watch it!
