Les valseuses (1974)
Saw a scene from the movie
Stumbled upon the train scene on Facebook "recommendations" and hated every bit of it. Offensive and disturbing beyond words. Not sure how something like this could land on the internet for all young and old to see. What's weird is that after that woman has been harassed, she leaps out the door to see her husband as though nothing has happened. In the beginning, she was annoyed by these unwashed men and their obnoxious behavior and yet she seems unmoved by "that experience" at the end of the scene. Yuck!
Sex and the City (2008)
Underwhelming, Yuck
Plot loses pace every now and then.
Much more risqué than the show... didn't see that coming. Sex was in their conversation, not in the scenes which is was in fact its USP. In this movie, there are scenes that I wish I could unsee but can't...yuck
Promising Young Woman (2020)
Perfection
Finally a socially relevant story. Very engaging and interesting at the same time.
Aetbaar (2004)
Not bad at all
Not sure if it was worth that poor a box office reception
Super 30 (2019)
Sweet and inspiring
Lovely film that focuses on the poor and often ignored teeming millions of this country. Salute to the brilliant, selfless man who inspired this film!
Hrithik Roshan is flawless as always and delivers the best performance by any actor so far this year!
Kabir Singh (2019)
No Devdas- not even close!
My surprise on people wanting to put their lips on a stranger's mouth, to ingest their germs, aside, I don't understand how the poster of a movie that's supposed to be a modern day parallel to the iconic Devdas, the saint of soulful love and loss, be so erotic and lustful?!
Edit:
So I decided to follow the herd and watch the movie but in spite of the kissing fest (which it was expected to be from the poster) and the curse words, the movie fails to leave the kind of impact Devdas did.
Their love is supposed to stem from some kind of heavenly connection, but comes across as just sexual and nothing more. I wonder in which part of India a girl runs up to her boyfriend to smooch him while he's waiting on her father!
The climax which wraps a whole lot of info in 5-10 minutes is specially unconvincing, rather funny, in the scenes with the girl's father.
Shahid Kapoor did a good job carrying this rather ordinary story on his back.
