Fast Food Nation (2006)
Blah
This movie was long, boring and Avril Lavinge was in it. So basically three of the worst things you can have in a movie. The only part that made me not want to eat fast food was when the kid from Little Miss Sunshine spit in the burger...other than that it was like "Oh, that sucks...but s*&t happens." Honestly, do people NOT know that the meat industry is like this? Do people really think that hamburgers just exist? The whole college revolutionaries were really hilarious. By hilarious I mean a huge joke. When they were trying to get the cows out of the field and then when the cows stayed the kids were all "Oh! they must love the food! It probably tastes better than grass!" News flash: Cows are some of the dumbest animals on the face of this earth. I bet they would eat a burger made of their mom and not even realize that it was not grass.
I wish I could go back in time and get the two hours back that I wasted watching this. What would I have done with them you ask? I would have gone to BK, got a value meal and watched The Departed for the 8th time. That's what.
Gin gwai (2002)
Scary?
This was an interesting movie. I was told it was horrifying and I would lose sleep over it.
I get scared VERY easily.Sometimes I think I see stuff and it is not fun. That being said, this movie was more of a heart warming creep show. The chick gets new eyes, sees some pretty weird and creepy stuff...but then she goes and saves Ling from an eternity of damnation! Awww! That is so cute! Ya, it was not scary. It was pretty lame if you think of it in a scary aspect. I liked the end. It made me smile and I said to my husband "Oh, look! That is cute. The Dr. Loves her!!!" That tells you something right there. Not scary. At all.
Pulse (2006)
What...the...HELL?!?!
OK, I love scary movies. Lately, I have been upset by the content and lack of "scare" in most movies out, but this movie takes the cake on sucking.
It started out a little jumpy. My friend screamed. It was annoying. Not as annoying as the story line for this movie. OK, brace yourselves for the horror. The creepy scary bad thing in this movie...was a computer virus that GASP takes your will to live! Oh God! Say it is not true! It starts with Veronica Mars' bf and then gradually everyone in the world gets it minus a few people who make it to a "no service area" where the will to live taker can't get you. So basically, this will to live sucking virus takes over and the human race goes and lives in the prairie with no technology whatsoever. Cause some virus wants your will to live.
What a stupid stupid stupid idea.
The Office (2005)
Brilliant
This show was wonderfully transfered to the American standard. I find the BBC version mildly irritating and was pleased that Ricky Gervais had a part in it. The BBC version did not fare to well in the States, and Ricky G. did a great job of casting and re-writing for a USA audience( and Canadaian...as that is where I live;) Very funny and at the same-time wildly awkward. Love it. If anyone does not like it,it is probably because they like to sound cool that they liked the BBC one first. I think they are not really to be compared,it is not a rip off. It is merely adjusted to suit. Which is good because I fund the BBC office dreadfully boring and hard to watch. I have tried as my husband is an avid fan. I can't wait till next season. Should be good! And hopefully...this Office will see more days than that of its Britiah counter part.
The Skeleton Key (2005)
Finally!
After a slue of bad and disappointing scary movies, this one really delivered. I usually can tell an ending within the first few minutes and this film had me totally confused in a good way. Not so much horror scary, but it definitely stuck with me that night! Kate Hudson and Peter Sarsgard did very well in the acting department. I liked the idea of being down in the Bayou, which has always been a bit on the freaky side anyways! I only wish that I would have seen in in the theater and not deemed it a "renter!" It would have been worth the 10 bucks, and I could have had better popcorn. If you have not seen it, do! But don't confuse it with the horror flick Skeleton MAN...think that would never happen? Well, it did...with my mom. And that movie is a whole other review;)
Attack of the Sabretooth (2005)
Wow. WOW.
This movie should have NEVER been made. From the poorly done animation, to the beyond bad acting. I am not sure at what point the people behind this movie said "Ok, looks good! Lets do it!" I was in awe of how truly horrid this movie was. At one point, which very may well have been the WORST point, a computer generated Saber Tooth of gold falls from the roof stabbing the idiot creator of the cats in the mouth...uh, ooookkkk. The villain of the movie was a paralyzed sabretooth that was killed within minutes of its first appearance. The other two manages to kill a handful of people prior to being burned and gunned down. Then, there is a random one awaiting victims in the jungle...which scares me for one sole reason. Will there be a Part Two? God, for the sake of humans everywhere I hope not.
This movie was pure garbage. From the power point esquire credits to the slide show ending.
