9-1-1: All Fall Down (2024)
Rushed
The entire 7th season felt incredibly rushed. It just doesn't feel like 9-1-1 anymore. And I get that due to the strikes they had less episodes and therefore less time, but they tried to push an entire season into a half season and it was obvious. The normally perfect balance between personal life and the calls they go on was gone. I was still excited for the finale because it felt very hyped up, but I was deeply disappointed. I expected it to be emotional, but it felt flat and once again rushed. I hoped for the 118 to have an emotional scene with Bobby in the hospital. Maybe a scene of Buck at Bobby's side to parallel a scene in season 6 where the situation was reversed. All the articles after 7x09 made it seem like we wouldn't know Bobby's future, but he was fine in the middle of the episode with no consequences to having been dead for 14 minutes. They also did some characters dirty. Eddie's entire storyline just felt off and now Christopher has left? Really? They could've given them so many better storylines.
The only positive things for me was Mara being reunited with Hen and Karen, and another confirmation that Bobby is Buck's father figure. (Though that was then ruined by the sexual comment literally two lines later... not to mention that Buck and Tommy do not have any chemistry between them. Tommy is just another character without any personality besides his past racism and sexism and I hope that in season 8 if they do another love interests for Buck, they'll hire an actor with actual chemistry with Oliver. Oliver deserves that at least given Buck's past romances)
I'm really hoping season 8 will feel like 9-1-1 again. That the balance is back and it won't be so rushed anymore.
9-1-1: In Another Life (2023)
Amazing!
What an amazing episode!! I cried the whole time. It was obvious how much the cast loved filming this episode, and they were all great. Especially Oliver (Buck) did his absolute best, phenomenal acting!!
I especially loved the scenes between Buck and Bobby and the confirmation that Buck is like a son to Bobby. It was beautiful to see how deep their relationship is and finally the acknowledgement!
Everyone in the episode did great! Loved hearing how Aisha (Hen) cried during Gavin's scene (Christopher) during the rehearsals.
Can't wait to see how the story develops, I'm sure we will see more in the upcoming episodes, having read some interviews.
The Gilded Age (2022)
Amazing
This was such an amazing show, and I can't wait for season 2! The characters were interesting and I even enjoyed watching the 'bad people' and their scenes. Definitely a recommendation!
Why Women Kill (2019)
Season 2 should've been a new show
Season 1 was absolutely amazing. Every episode was the right amount of shocking and fun. The way 3 storylines of 3 different times blended was spectacular. A unique show. If this show had only this first season, my rating would be a 9, possibly 10.
But then there is season 2. Not bad, but especially if you have just seen season 1, it is just not the same. Everything is different. Not just the cast is gone, with one temaining as narrator, but there are no longer 3 storylines in 3 different times set in the same place. I feel like it would've been better as a different show. Not even a spinoff, just a different show. It feels like a different show.
As a different show, I think I would've enjoyed season 2 more, but instead I keep comparing it to season 1, and even though there are 2 actors who I love in this season, I eventually gave up, because it didn't give me the same feelings as the first season.
But, because the first season was so amazing, I'm still giving this a high rating.
The Chair (2021)
Disappointed
I really like Sandra Oh, so of course I gave this a chance, but this show was really disappointing. The plot was uninteresting and I didn't care at all about the characters. Most of the episodes I was bored. I wouldn't watch a season 2 if they make one.
Jupiter's Legacy (2021)
Meh
The first 6 out of 8 episodes were really boring. The story is slow, characters don't really get enough development. It felt like any other superhero show, but less interesting. Nothing stood out. And the characters were mostly just some alternative version of a DC or Marvel character.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
Wow!
I know nothing about chess, so I expected not to be interested, but all I can say is 'wow'. Even without knowing how the game goes, this show is still fascinating!
Country Comfort (2021)
It's okay
The acting isn't great, and the first few episodes are overdramatic. But if you still continue to watch, you'll find a show with cute family dynamics. I also really liked the music, they're all talented singers, and the characters were also fun in the end.
Zero Chill (2021)
Fun!
I have to admit, I'm not a fan of any sport, so starting this I was hesitant, but I really enjoyed it! Some of the characters could be annoying sometimes, but overall it was definitely worth it!
A Princess for Christmas (2011)
It's ok
While it's enjoyable to watch, it's also kind of all over the place? I don't know, it felt a little messy and fast, and there wasn't really a plot. The characters had potential, but I didn't really like them. Personally I'm not a fan of romances where they fall in love only a few days after meeting. And then when they are together for a few minutes, they do a time skip to them getting married, which felt really rushed to me.
Batwoman (2019)
It's amazing!
I'm so shocked by other people's reviews! I thought the pilot was amazing. Kate Kane is a very interesting character, we finally have a badass lgbtq woman as a lead superhero (I guess all those straight white men hate the show because of that). The acting was amazing, the plot was amazingly written (unlike most recent Arrowverse seasons) and I already prefer this show over the other Arrowverse shows. Its ten times better. The villain is also good, and I can't wait to see more!
