The Girl Next Door (2007)
Months later I still cant get this out of my mind. Left me absolutely devastated and sickened
I enjoy horror films and read an article on the 10 most brutal. This film was number 7. I knew nothing about it going in other then it's place on a list.
I am a 48 year old father of two. It has been several months since I have watched it and it continues to haunt my thoughts. I simply cannot get what I have seen out of my head. Then to learn this story was not only based on a real event but one which was much worse then what was depicted on screen sickened me to my core.
I have seen every terrorizing horrific gorefest movie out there and this one will likely remain in my head until the day I meet my maker. This is an extremely difficult piece of cinema to watch.
Credit is due to the young lady who played the main character. Even to act through those scenes must have been an unbelievable horrific experience. She did a phenomenal job.
I am disgusted that I watched this but happy that it gave a voice to a young girl named Sylvia Likens. A girl I never would have heard of otherwise. A girl who lived through a terrifying painful horrific life only to be freed by death. A girl who deserves to be remembered.
Rest in peace Sylvia
Stay Out Stay Alive (2019)
It was entertaining
Not fantastic but certainly not nearly as bad as some of the reviews. Could be believable seeing people so blinded with greed to let their emotions take over. Plot was interesting and kept my attention. Acting was about even with your typical horror/slasher flicks, no academy awards but definitly watchable and by no means subpar. The ranger was probably the worst actor in the film as she overdid the creepy act so much that she just came off as weird like something was wrong with her.
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
Terrible; not at all reminiscent of John Rambo
Did I know I was in for gore, blood, and capricious tourturing and killing? Yes but thats all it was.
I have never reviewed a movie here but this was so bad I felt I had to. How ANYONE gave this above a 5 blows my mind.
It would have been a decent mind numbing hack em up slasher with NO Rambo mention but it tried and miserably failed to be Rambo.
As someone that openly wept at Balboa finally emptying the basement trying up Rocky this was anythimg but. The last Rambo as the boatman in Burma left this character closed out correctly, what I saw I waited patiently to see Stallone to head bad guy "Sue me for what?" after playfully extracting the mans heart which does nothing for the film as he is already dead.
The first time I looked at my watch I discovered six minutes left. This was not a good "wow it is so full of action time flew" it was "six minutes left and this? When when will we see Rambo"
Epic horrific failure
